LED Control - ReadyNAS RN102
Hi,
I have been trying to work out how to turn on/off the LEDs on the front panel of the RN102 which i have successfully achieved by running the following commands
POWER LED
echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/gpio-leds/leds/rn102:blue:pwr/brightness (0 for off, 1 for on)
Backup LED
echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/gpio-leds/leds/rn102:blue:backup/brightness (0 for off, 1 for on)
SATA 1 LED
echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/gpio-leds/leds/rn102:blue:sata1/brightness (0 for off, 1 for on)
SATA 2 LED
echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/gpio-leds/leds/rn102:blue:sata2/brightness (0 for off, 1 for on)
Ultimately i am going to issue the above commands in a CRON job to turn on/off the LEDS at a scheduled time as the NAS is in my bedroom.
I have been unsuccessful however in turning off the Activity LED. I have done some research and it was noted that the Activity LED wasnt controlled from GPIO but was controlled by the SATA controller itself.
Does anyone know if it would still be possible to turn on/off the activity LED somehow from SSH?
Thanks in advance.

This is by design. Turning off the Activity LED is not possible. You may wish to cover it with electrical tape of it annoys you.

Users will never agree on lights. Some want them bright, some want them dim, some want them off. It all depends on where they put the product.
The only way that really works for everyone is for Netgear to provide some options in the web UI. Some of the newer routers have lighting controls, it would be good if the NAS did also.
