Mavericks: file to large
Hi,
I just bought a RN102 model but I have this error which is major to me when I try to move a large file (> 4Go) on the NAS :
The item “...” can’t be copied because it is too large for the volume's format.
Setup:
ReadyNAS RN102 / 6.1.4
iMac OSX 10.9 / Mavericks
What's wrong?
Thank you.

Re: Mavericks: file to large
How are you trying to move the file? Using AFP? CIFS? Something else?

Re: Mavericks: file to large
SMB, AFP is "not connected", should I define a user on the NAS (other than guest)?
Btw, thanks for the quick response.

Re: Mavericks: file to large
If you download your logs and extract the zip contents what does initrd.log look like?

[2013/12/05 19:21:35] Factory default initiated due to new disks (no RAID, no partitions)!
[2013/12/05 19:21:40] Defaulting to X-RAID2 mode, RAID level 1
[2013/12/05 19:22:08] Factory default initiated on ReadyNASOS .
[2013/12/07 10:14:15] Updated from ReadyNASOS 6.0.0 to 6.1.4.
I managed to use AFP and it works now but I am still curious about SMB mode.

Re: Mavericks: file to large
If you backup your data and do a factory default (wipes all data, settings, everything) does that resolve the issue?
I always recommend that when installing a new system you update to the latest firmware, verify the update completed successfully then do a factory default to get a clean setup on the latest firmware.

Re: Mavericks: file to large
How did you solve this, please? I am suffering the same issue on a ReadyNAS NVX running 4.2.25.

Re: Mavericks: file to large
I have the same problem. Can't send an 8GB video file to the ReadyNAS. I've tried with AFP and CIFS. Help please!
