Most divx 5 videos not recognized
Hi,
I own a ReadyNas Ultra 2
I have RAIDiator 4.2.26 and installed latest ReadyDLNA Update Addon Package (1.1.2.3)
Under Services/Streaming Services, I have ReadyDLNA version shown v1.1.2
Most of my media files do stream fine on the Panasonic Viera TV (TX-P42STW60 Plasma TV)
A few of them don't and VLC Media Player shows that files concerned have one thing in common: MPEG-4 Video (DX50)
I can stream the same files from my PC using windows DLNA server
Any help or step by step how can I debug the issue
Example of file names (no unusual characters): 'S02E33 - Pig Swill Fly.avi'

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThe AVI format is over over 20 years old, with a lot of variations that has crept in over the years. It might be quickest to convert them to a standard MP4, or remux them.
If you like, maybe download mediainfo (www.videohelp.com/mediainfo) and use it to analyze the file (select the text view, and copy/paste the results here).
Be careful on the install, there is some adware you probably want to opt out of. - chopin70VirtuosoThanks

Anything from this?
I suggest following up on whatever mdgm's advice is first.
If that doesn't resolve it, then I'd try resetting the file permissions on the "advanced options" tab. If that fails, I'd still recommend remuxing. There are several freeware tools that can do this- PM me if you get to that point and need advice. - chopin70Virtuoso

PM with requested files sent
At all: many thanks. Will wait for the follow up with mdgm
Remuxing is the last alternative as it will take a lot of time for all the concerned files - StephenBGuru - Experienced User
Yes, especially if you don't have a batch tool. So it makes sense to give Netgear some time to sort it out first.chopin70 wrote: Remuxing is the last alternative as it will take a lot of time for all the concerned files
Though you could try one, and see if you can get it to play that way. - chopin70Virtuoso

True
Can you advise a good batch too + the best settings to be recognized by Netgear ReadyNAS Ultra 2 ?
I'd remux one just to see, until I get an answer from mdgm - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserThe simplest thing to try is remuxing to an MKV. mkvtoolnix is a popular toolkit to try, but it is not batch. The VLC media player will play it.
Transcoding to MP4 is another potential option - apple has enough market power to get pretty good support for MP4s across the board. But you can't remux this content into that container.
Unfortunately I don't use ReadyDLNA (and the DLNA client in your panasonic TV is one of the moving parts here also).
I'll also send a PM. - chopin70Virtuosomdgm: any news about the links I sent you ?
- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserNot sure if you meant mdgm or me. I do owe you a PM, I'll try to get to it a little later today.
