Netatalk version
I was having Time Machine problems (like many others) and while investigating possible fixes I noticed that the Netatalk version included with the latest OS 6.1.6 is the relatively old v3.0.5 (released in August 2013)…
The current Netatalk version is 3.1.1, released last week. Wouldn't it be a good idea to include this in OS 6.1.7 since it has quite a few fixes since 3.0.5 as well as nice new features like support for Spotlight and AFP 3.4.

- chirpaLuminaryOne of the newer RCs of 6.1.7 may include it. Beta testers of 6.2.0 told me 3.1.1 is in that version at least, no release date set.
- PigletLuminaryOS 6.1.7 was released with Netatalk v3.0.7. Which is kind of odd since there's a 3.0.8 version available which fixes some bugs that appeared in 3.0.7:
FIX: dbd: remove orphaned ._ AppleDouble files. Bug #549.
FIX: afpd: Fix a crash in of_closefork(). Bug #551. - PigletLuminaryOS 6.2 has the latest Netatalk 3.1.6 but Spotlight support is not enabled. Hopefully this can be added soon. :D
- PigletLuminaryOS 6.2.1 updated to the current Netatalk 3.1.7
