Hello,
I have a ReadyNAS Duo V1 and would link to watch movies on my Chromecast.
Normally Plex would do the job, but as far as I know Plex is not compattible with the Duo V1
So what are my alternatives?
Thnx
Chris

You could install a DLNA client on the Chromecast and run ReadyDLNA on the ReadyNAS but do note that the Chromecast will only be able to play files that it can be streamed to it as is, as your ReadyNAS cannot transcode. If the media is in the wrong format or too high quality the Chromecast won't be able to play it.

Re: Plex-like mediaserver for ReadyNAS Duo V1
You can use the NAS as storage for Plex Media Server, but if you want a NAS to run e.g. Plex I would look at getting the RN212/RN214 or the RN516.
The Duo v1 can only stream video as is, so if you want to use it to store the video you could use a PC to run the server and transcode the video for streaming to a client device.
