ReadyNAS 104 update 6.1.9 hangs on "Booting..." #23915958
Hi,
I'm using the NAS as iSCSI device and with OS version 6.1.8 I have problems, that the NAS disconnects, and not even ping or the user interface are working.
I found an article, that 6.1.9 maybe resolves this problem, so I decided to try 6.1.9 RC11.
Unfortunately the manual upgrade remains hanging at the "booting .../Installing FW" for 12+ hours.
After a new start it was booting OK back to 6.1.8 and back to my iSCSI disconnects.
So I decided to wait on the official release, and was happy as my userinterface announce: "New update available"
But the result is still the same: hanging at the "booting .../Installing FW" for 12+ hours.
And again: After a new start it was booting OK back to 6.1.8 and back to my iSCSI disconnects.
Any advice, how to resolve this upgrade issue ?
I'm still hoping to fix my other problem with the new version. So this time I'm really interested to upgrade, while I'm usually more the 2never touch a running system" type :-)

Ihre Support Anfrage wurde erfolgreich abgeschickt.
Ihre Fallnummer lautet, 23915958. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI see support has suggested an OS Re-install followed by another attempt to update the firmware. Can you check if that fixes your issue?
- fromViennaAspirantI just did the reinstall.
After the reinstall I was directly in version 6.1.9 without any reinstall at all.
So I'm not yet sure, which version I actually run, but I asked this allready in my case at the Netgear support. But everything (display on the device, web UI and RAIDar tell me it's 6.1.9) only the start page (before login) still insist to be 6.1.8. I just never saw anything about the original version (which was 6.1.4, if I remember correctly)
So I'm waiting for the support response just to be sure that I run the correct version. Hopefully it will resolve my iSCSI problem as well. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhen you update the firmware the firmware is updated first on the internal flash, then on the disks. It sounds like it got on the internal flash O.K. but hanged when trying to install it on the disks. An OS Re-install does clean some things up and in this case it must have cleaned up enough to get the rest of the upgrade process to work.
Can you download your logs zip file and attach it to your support case?
