ReadyNAS 2100 Hardware & Video Streaming
I'm interested in purchasing a ReadyNAS 2100 but need to know what the hard drive spin speed is? It comes with 4x 1TB drives but doesn't say in the specifications what spin speed they are. Also, is the transfer rate SATA 3GB/s or 6GB/s?
Finally is this NAS capable of streaming videos encoded in H264/MPEG4 format? We have 10 users in the office who will be playing the videos back at the same time, some of who will need to seek through the videos too, so there will be lots of hits on the NAS. We're using an Adobe AIR video player and Wowza/RTMP to play the videos.
Thanks in advance.

- GrievousAspirantUsually 7200rpm. SATA3GB/s.
However neither of those specs have any effect on the streaming performance. It's the bandwidth itself that would really be the issue, and the limiting factor for that is the 1gbps network connection. Considering that this isn't really so much a business question as it is a streaming question(I know we can handle a few streams at a time, but you might get a better answer from someone else regarding the number) I'm moving this to a better suited location.
