ReadyNas Duo v1 Console
Hi All:
I have a Readynas Duo v1 (RNDU2000) that have been chugging along since purchased in 2008. It's been reliable until the power cable failed. I bought one to replace it and fortunately after the device autosynced, my drive was running 100% again.
Although I can access all my files, I can't seem to login to the console (https://ipaddress/admin). When I try, I get the following error in the browser:
This site can’t be reached
192.x.x.x refused to connect.
Try:
- Checking the connection
- Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
I have tried multiple PCs on the network using all browsers (chrome, firefox, ie, edge) to no avail. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can get around this issue?
Thanks,
Sam
PS. I bought another ReadyNas Duo v1 in case the original issue wasn't with the power cable (it was). If I continue to have issues accessing the Admin console, can I just shut down my old ReadyNas Duo, swap the disks (matching HDs to slots) to the new ReadyNas Duo, and just power on new NAS without issue? Is there a way to factory reset the replacement ReadyNas Duo so I have default id/pw to log into before I swap in the 2 hds?

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSEDMaybe try RAIDar on a PC, and see what status it gives you. Either version of RAIDar will work for this. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads
Also try rebooting the NAS. The clean shutdown method depends on whether your NAS runs 4.1.x firmware (v1) or 5.3.x firmware (v2).
- 4.1.x firmware: hold the power button untel the LED flashes (about 5 seconds)
- 5.3.x firmware: press the power button twice
If this doesn't work, you need to pull the plug.

The OS is stored on the disks (and the system boots from the disks). The most likely scenario is that something has broken with the apache server running in the NAS. If that's the case, migrating the disks will not help.
I recommend starting by backing up the data, as this might require a factory default to fix.

An RNDU2000 is not a Duo, it's an Ultra2, and the volume is not interchangeable with a Duo. If you try, the Duo may wipe them and build a new volume. So it is imperative you check to see what you really have.
A Duo V1 is an RND2xxx-100, where the xxx depends on the drives it shipped with. A Duo V2 is an RND2000-200 (I don't think they ever sold them with drives), and an RNDU2000-100 is an Ultra2. They have differences that are pretty obvious when viewed from the rear. The Duo V1 runs OS4.1.x, the Duo V2 runs 5.x, and the Ultra runs 4.2.x but can be updated to 6.x. The volumes from each of those are not interchangeable with the others and only OS6 will never format drives that already contain another system's data without your express permission..
