ReadyNas Pro 6 - rebuild doesn't start

Here's an old one;
got a Readynas pro 6 with 6 x 3 TB drives.
Beeing working for ages and running fw 4.2.27. As it's been working for ages, I've forgotten most tips and tricks.

Case now - 1 drive failed. Replaced a Seagate ST33000650NS  with a new revision; Seagate ST33000651NS .
Log states new disk inserted and will be used for rebuild and then...nothing...like 4 days later nothing !

1. Tried shut down/power-off replace drive - no difference.
2. Tried having the system up and running and entering the new drive - nothing

3, Tried with another extra drive, same model/spec, also unopened/unused; - nothing.

Notices I've made;
Starting or rebooting the readynas, it will list all drives including the now missing/dead drive that's removed
whether the new drive is installed or not.

Whether the new drive is in on power-up or beeing inserted while up and running,
same thing gets stated; new drive found, disk passed test, will be used for rebuild....and nothing...
Installing the new drive does NOT make readynas to update the Seagate ST33000650NS version to Seagate ST33000651NS

    The most likely explanation is that new drive isn't working. Test it in a Windows PC using Seatools.  You can connect it with a USB adapter or dock if that is needed.

      Thanks....but,, as I wrote - tested with 2 brand new, unopened, Seagate drives!
      Both actually the same as I've already got, only 1 step later in revision but otherwise identical.

        Sorry, I missed the "another extra" phrase in your first post.  That makes it less likely that it's the replacement drives being DOA.

        Another possibility is that something is wrong in the NAS chassis.  So perhaps the next step is to test the original drive with Seatools and confirm that it has actually failed.

        The resync should be completing in less than a day.
