Reboot RN314 through SSH

Hi all,

I have a RN314, OS 6.9.0, I'm abroad at the moment and something odd happened -it always happens when I'm traveling...

I was trying to access some file through readycloud, but the unit was not responding. I was just getting the message of a firmware upgrade but no shares were visible. So I tried to reboot it, I switched on a remote machine at home, connected to NAS IP and got the intro page. After a few seconds, it disappeared and I got the page with the waiting bar saying that it was trying to connect with the admin page. Obviously failed.

So I have tried to upgrade the firmware from Readycloud page to reboot it from there -nothing, it said "downloaded" but the reboot command did nothing.

I have connected then through SSH, I have tried the rn_shutdown -r command as suggested here on the forum, but nothing happened.

What can I do to reboot my unit?

SMB works, services are running (I can access Plex, VPN, etc.), it looks that all admin services are stuck.

  • I have just checked the Apache2 status, it is giving a lot of timeouts. The error messages are all "script timed out before returning headers: ddbroker.cgi, refer: [...IP of my computer...]"

    "Timeout waiting for output from CGI script /frontview/lib/dbbroker.cgi, refer: [...IP of my computer...]"

    Restarting the service doesn't solve the problem.

        Thanks, but it's not working. After a long wait where nothing happens, I get the following error:

        Failed to start reboot.target: connection timed out

        See system logs and 'systemctl status reboot.target' for details

         

        When I send that command (systemctl), once again after a long wait I get another error

        Failed to get properties: connection timed out
