sparsebundle problem-unable to mount - OSStatus error -6602

Do you have a static IP address assigned to the ReadyNAS (e.g. in the settings for your router)? If not, I would assign one.
I would also check /c/.timemachine and if there's a sparsebundle there remove it.
Regarding the keychain, on your Mac go to Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access and delete the keychain entries for the NAS there, then reboot the Mac again.
Do you have a Power PC Mac? Or is there some other reason you're still using Leopard?
Attempt to do Time Machine backups again and see if it works.
