Disk Test Failure in ReadyNAS 314_6.5.1

Hi, I found this error while disk test.

Is it something serious.

Error - Volume: Disk test failed on disk in channel 2, model TOSHIBA_MG03ACA100, serial 23C8K44WF

Model - ReadyNAS 314

Disk - 1TB TOSHIBA_MG03ACA100, serial 23C8K44WF

Test parameters compaired other disks are fine except

Current Pending Sector Count - 3

Uncorrectable Sectore Count - 3

What does it means and what is the solution.

The two counts mean that there are 3-6 sectors on the disk that have failed.  That's a warning sign, but not usually fatal.

However the failure of the disk test is serious, and suggests that the disk should be replaced.   If you purchased the disk yourself, then you could look into a warranty replacement from Toshiba.  If you go that route, I suggest getting a new drive for the NAS and using the recertified RMA drive as a spare.

But if you purchased the NAS+disks from Netgear, then you should follow mdgm's advice and do a disk RMA with them.
