Problem with ReadyDLNA and music streaming

Hello all together,

up to lasr week I used an old RaydyNAS Duo as sreaming server for my music archive. Since last week I use my RN214 instead of that. I copied all files from my old NAS to the 214. Streaming is running, BUT now my streamin device shows all samplers / compilations with different interpreters as often as different interpreters are included, e.g. one CD with 5 different interpreters is shown 5 times and always only the music made by a interpreter is shown. So every CD is splitted up. This was different with my old device. Can the ReadyDLNA be configured and how has this to be done?

This is a tagging issue.  Music has several tag fields for artist - my tagging tool labels them as "artist", "album artist" and "original artist".  And composer...

Try looking at these albums with a tagging tool.  Copy the artist field that's filled in to one of the other artist fields, and then set the original field to be the same for all tracks in the album (for instance "various").

    Then rescan.

  • Sorry, but this cannot be the problem:

With my old ReadyNAS DUO with exactly the same files (just copied as I mentioned) this problem did not appear...

Another idea? Is there a possibility to configure the ReadyDLNA?

I think you'll find it is the issue.  Try it on one album and see if it fixes it (remembering to rescan).

I understand that the ReadyNAS duo didn't have that problem.  But I believe it was running a different version of ReadyDLNA.

I don't know of any way to modify this behavior.  You could try using plex instead.
