Impossible to install ON NETWORKS - N300MA adapter under Windows 10
Hi,
I've just installed Windows 10 and I try to use the Wifi "ON NETWORKS - N300MA adapter".
When I click on the net to find the right driver for win10, I'm always redirected to the netgear web site.
I tried to register the product but the product serial is not recognize !!!
Just following the release 1.205 "setup.exe", the adapter is not recognized. I use DELL Optiplex 380, Win10 freshly installed. Adapter never inserted. I follow the instructions, then the setup ask me to put the adapter in the USB slot and it is not recognized.
I assume that other USB keys are fully recognized and operational on these usb ports.
Please help.
Kind Regards
Christophe

Hi ChristopherFRAN,
The system requirements of the devices states that the driver supports upto Windows 8 only. The reason it was not detected during the installation as the adapter does not have a Windows 10 driver.

Hi JamesGL,
I thank you for your kind reply.
Last month I've bought x7 NETGEAR 300 adapters and x7 ON-NETWORKS N300MA adapters.
You're right whehn you say that the ON-NETWORKS adapters are NOT RECOGNIZED by Windows 10, whereas the NETGEAR same adapters ARE correctly recognized.
As the ON-NETWORKS adapters are now under the scope of NETGEAR Company (perhabs may I wrong) Can we hope a new driver release of the ON-NETWORKS N300MA adapters for Win 10 ?
If not, please advice.
Best regards,
Christophe

On-Networks are part of EOL products and no longer manufactured. As you can see in On-Networks website that the products are no longer available.

Hi Christophe,
You can download a suitable driver from the Microsoft Update catalog. It works on my PC on Windows 10 - might not be "supported" by Netgear, but it does work. Search for the following package:
on networks wlan n300 micro usb wifi adapter - N300MA
or this link should do it:
You need to visit it in Internet Explorer. There are two packages, one for 64 bit and one for 32 bit.
Hope this helps,
Cheers
Chris
