AC1200 WiFi extender connection problem with password

Hi, this problem has already been posted and is marked as solved, but I don’t understand the solution (which was to access the UI of the router, find the IP address of the extender and find the password). This is the text of the original post which describes my problem exactly, can someone please explain in a detailed step by step way how I can solve this:

I am having trouble connecting Apple devices to the Wifi extender and as it says in the instructions the wifi router password is the same as the extenders but when I go to connect it is says failed to connect because of wrong password! how do I find out what the password is to my extender?

    Do you have a device you can connect to the EX6920's ethernet port?  If you do, you can then browse to www.mywifiext.net.

     

    Also, do you have any non-apple devices that you can try to connect to the extender wifi network?

      Thanks for your advice, I connected my laptop to the extender using an ethernet cable and followed your instructions, and it worked. Thanks!
