DST Adapter cannot connect to router with SSID broadcast turned off

I am trying to add a DST adapter to the Nighthawk AC1900 Router (Model R7300) but it keeps saying no DST adapters found. I have turned 'broadcast SSID' off on the router which I think could be the reason. Is there a way to manually connect the DST adapter to the Router with 'broadcast SSID' turned off?

    Have you tried to connect it using WPS buttons?

    DarrenM, yes, tried that and didn't work. I think WPS requires SsID broadcast to be on to work

      Are you not able to enable the SSID connect the extender then disable it again?
