EX3700 problem - Constantly requesting IP from router

I recently purchased two Netgear Wi-Fi range extenders - a EX6150 and a EX3700. The EX6150 is working perfectly. The EX3700, however, is constantly requesting an IP assignment from the R7500 router (indicated by the R7500's activity logs) - I have unique IP reservations defined in the R7500 for each of the wi-fi extenders.

The constant IP requests from the EX3700 occur regardless of whether or not a client device is connected to the EX3700. Is this a bad unit (that should be returned for exchange) or is it due to a (known) bug in the current EX3700 firmware release?

Kind Regards,

John

  • Tried resets - restore to factory - problem continued to persist ... also discovered that it was temporarily dropping clients when the IP request renegotiated. Decided to not take any chances - Returned and exchanged for a second EX6150...

Should have the replacement EX6150 in a couple of days - Amazon is fantastic!

Second EX6150 working perfectly - I don't know if this is a common problem with the EX3700, I presume not since I could find no other references to the issue. I'll chalk it up to it just being a bad new,out-of-box "experience" and let it go at that - though I will not be trying another EX3700 at some point in the future because the EX6150's work so exceptionally well...

      Cheers!
