EX6100 in AP Mode - Bridged
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how best to create a wireles bridge using a Netgear EX6100 that is currently connected to my firewall in AP mode? Everything works as it should and I have a wireless network throughout the house, including internet connection.
The problem is, this is all setup upstairs, and I have a TalkTalk Youview box downstairs that is currently not connected to the network as its only wired not wireless. I now need to create a bridge to connect the Youview box to the network, but the bridge must be capable of IGMP for the boost channels so I understand.
I do have a Netgear EX3800 at my disposal, however im not sure what he best approach is. Am I over thinking this with regards to a wireless bridge, and in fact I could just set the EX3800 up in repeater mode instead? Speed is not important as the only thing that will be connected to the bridge/repeater will be the Youview box, so as long as I can manage more than 5Mbps then that is fine.
Thankyou in advance :)
Set up the EX3800 as a repeater and wire the Youview box to it. The EX3800 shouldn't interfere with IGMP, but I can't make any guarantees.

Hi,
I setup the EX3800 as wireless extender and connected to the EX6100 running in AP mode.
Everything works great, apart from I had to enable IGMP in the firewall, but this is being passed to the youview box with no issues :)
Thanks for your help.
