WN3000 - SLOW speed - Need to be restarted
Hi,
the product needs frequent restarts (OFF and ON) to keep the right speed. Otherwise it decrease the speed connection during the day.
Is it a known bug to be fixed? Any suggestion?
Thank you

Re: WN3000 - SLOW speed - Need to be restarted
Hi @GDM59,
Welcome to the community!
1. What is the firmware version of the extender?
2. Have you tried resetting the extender?
3. Have you tried changing the wireless channel on the main router?
4. Does the issue persist on all your wireless devices that connect to the extender?
Regards,
Dexter

Re: WN3000 - SLOW speed - Need to be restarted
1. What is the firmware version of the extender?
I have given back the product to Amazon, as it was still covered by warranty. Anyway it was the latest firmware version
2. Have you tried resetting the extender?
Yes, several time
3. Have you tried changing the wireless channel on the main router?
No, but this is a problem of the extender. I should choose the extender channel and not use the same modem channel. Because the best channel between the modem and the extender could not be the best between the extender and the devices.
4. Does the issue persist on all your wireless devices that connect to the extender?
Yes.
Conclusion: I have tried 3 extenders (TP-Link, Asus, Netgear). All have the same issue: the first months are OK, later they decrease the performance. So, I think all these kind of compact extenders use the same chipset with the same problem. For this reason I have bought a desktop (not compact) router/extender. Sorry to say, but Netgear as lost a customer because it doesn't give anymore email support for free under the warranty period (only paying).
