WN3000RPv2 or is it WN3000RPv3 goes into "booting" (amber) on connect

I have a WN3000RPv2 (or is it WN3000RPv3) that came with my UVERSE fiber installation. I say I am not sure which model because it says v2 on the bottom but looks like the v3 on the Netgear website.

It was having issues so I reset it to factory specs. Now, when I plug it is the power light turns green, but the moment I go to mywifiext.net the power light goes amber (booting according to the manual).

I cannot connect to it at all. But when my computer disconnects from the mywifiext network, the light goes green. SO I try to reconnect and it reboots.

This just keeps happening. I am of the opinion the unit has gone bad. But because it was given to me and there is no record of that (guy pulled it out of his ATT truck) warranty is not provable.

Any ideas what else might be wrong or if you think my opinion is correct?

    Hello WeberB

If the ISP supplied the unit I would have them exchange it since you have no proof of purchase.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will see if they will since it was not an official transaction - the tech just pulled it off his truck.

I wa sort of hoping someone might have insight into why this occurred. I do not really want another one if this is a standard occurrence.

I did indeed call ATT and the answer was that the unit was a free service to the first customers to get fiber optic and even though it has only been about 8 months they will not replace it. Since I do not have any paperwork on it (the service guy just handed it to me) I have no idea if it is under warranty and frankly cannot actually prove I got it legitimately. I did, but ATT has no record of it since they were just handing them out to anyone who got fiber.

        Oh well.
