wndr3700 very slow wifi

Seems all of a sudden my wireless is quite slow and weak.

I get download speeds of 60 mbps wired to the desktop through the router, but only about 10 with wifi. Router is 2 ft away.

I looked in the settings and tried a couple things but no help at all. Hope someone has some ideas, thanks

  • I was doing download speed testing using Road Runners Residential speed test. Got only 10mbps wireless compared to 60 wired

This is a problem that happenned all of a sudden.

Did a reset and still poor wireless. Tried changing channels a couple times as suggested on various sites. No effect at all. Cell phones would barely connect only 3 ft away from the modem. I think it just wore out

Bought a new WNDR4300 and works perfectly out of the box

Hi Joslinm How do you measure the speed on the wireless? Are you using a wireless computer, mobile or tablet device? Is it happening on all wireless devices?

    What settings have you tried?

Make sure that there are no other wireless devices that may interfere the wireless signal. Stay away from cordless phones, microwave ovens, baby monitors and the likes.

Have you tried relocating the router? How about changing the channel?

By the way, which signal you're connecting to (2.4GHz or 5GHz)?

Also what's the model version and firmware version of your router?

Glad to hear that the new router is working perfectly.
