As it says in the title, the OS does not recognize any data flow with 5ghz disabled. I have no need of 5ghz so I keep it off but 2.4ghz is on and my mobile is connected to it. Also, the Device Manager shows my wireless as being offline on the Network Map. What gives? If I could suggest, a simple solution to this would be to seperate the wireless into the two wavelengths. Hi My Samsung Galaxy s8 doesn't register on the 5ghz network. I have tried forgetting the network rejoining it, all it does it reonnects to the 2.4 ghz I am have tried sitting very close to the router a the satellite. I am using the latest version of firmware v2.0.0.74. Actually both my Android phone are connecting to 2.4 where as the iPhone connecting to 5 GHz. Can some body pls help. My main phone is Android so ThanksPS4 Pro Wont Connect to the 5GHz Signal
So I just recently purchased the Orbi RBK40 router and I noticed you cannot separate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi signals through normal methods. I was told that the router has a system or program that automatically pushes the best connection possible. All the devices that support a 5GHz connection seem to connect just fine. However, there are two PS4 Pros in the house and the router refuse to connect it to the 5GHz conncetion. Under my network settings on both PS4 Pro say they are on a 2.4 GHz conncetion. Even under the router GUI it says that it's connected to the 2.4 GHz conncetion. I've been trying to look up methods on how to connect it mannually but no luck. I found a post that teaches how to separate the SSIDs for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz and it worked, however the devices that were connceting to the 5GHz were experincing lag issues and would not have a consistent download rate. I usually average between 145-150 Mbps download when I don't split the SSIDs. However, when they are separate SSIDs, the download ranges from 6-130 Mbps and is never consistent. Not to mention, when the SSIDs are split, the PS4s seems to disconnect from the router frequently. Long story short, is there a way to connect the PS4 Pro to the 5GHz connection?Orbi: We really need separate SSID for 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz or speed is limited to less than 200 Mbps
TLDR: With Orbi, my 5Ghz capable devices are "forced" to connect to 2.4 Ghz most of the time, slowing down speed. Tested against 3 different routers and my 5Ghz capable can connect to 5Ghz network all the time. I got the 3-pack Orbi from Costco and after numerous testing, ALL my devices are connecting to 2.4 Ghz MOST of the TIME rather than 5 Ghz. This slows down the transfer speed from 800 Mbps to a paltry 145 Mbps. Unfortunately, since the Orbi does not allow separate SSID for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, I cannot "force" my device to connect only to 5Ghz to get better speed. This means that I have a $499 router system that mostly allow only 2.4 Ghz. I previously have a Time Capsule and setup 2 separate SSID: - devices capable of 5Ghz will ONLY connect to 5Ghz SSID (MacBook, iPhone, etc.) - devices capable of ONLY 2.4 Ghz will connect to 2.4Ghz SSID (thermostate, etc.) There was no changes on the setup or placement of my devices when I replace the Time Capsule with the Orbi: 1). Orbi is in the middle of apartment, same location as my Time Capsule 2). Laptops are in the same area as before (desk, room 1, etc.) 3). Other devices are in the same area as before (printer, camera, thermostat, etc.). 4). No new devices that can interference with Wifi signal The ONLY changes is the Orbi Router and Satellite and now all my 5Ghz capable devices are connecting to 2.4 Ghz with Orbi. I powered down Orbi, put my Time Capsule back and BAM!! I got 5Ghz connection again. For a separate testing, I bought the following: - Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 - ASUS RTC3200 Setup both to have separate SSID and BAM! 5Ghz devices can connect to ONLY 5Ghz network. I hope Orbi will change this in the new upgrade. Otherwise, I have no need for a $499 router that "force" 5Ghz devices to connect to 2.4 Ghz network.Single Broadcast Issues
I have been having this issue since day one with Orbi. I don't understand why they do not create an option where there is a drop down for all the connected macids that say "dual", "5ghz" or "2.4ghz". Let me explain my situation. I have nest cams and wifi doorbell that are connected to 5ghz. As we know 5ghz doesnt penetrate walls well, so the connection is slow. They would be better off on 2.4ghz but orbi keeps them on a slow 5 ghz connection. My solution is very simple from a programming standpoint and would solve all my issues. Curious what group thinks. ThanksWireless adapter Netgear A6210 ac and 5ghz problems
Hi, been having trouble of late with my A6210 adapter. Even using the latest driver version (1.0.0.36 as of today), both windows and netgear's genie cannot detect the 5ghz network of my router, just the 2.4ghz one. When I uninstall the driver and genie, it connects to 5ghz fine BUT only on 802.11n instead of ac. Any advice? OS is windows 10 64 bit home (supposedly compatible with latest driver) Router is Asus RT-AC1200G+ Router Settings: I have tried playing around with the control channels and channel bandwidth to no effect, also setting wireless mode to n/ac mixed ( there is no option for ac only for this router). No luck. Have also tried changing the network adapter's settings in Windows too (USB speed max 3.0, etc) but I still get this: As you can see I have uninstalled the adapter driver to be able to connect to 5ghz so the device is showing up as "802.11ac Wireless Lan Card". How do I force this adapter to connect with ac only? To confirm it is not a router issue, I plugged in an old adapter I had (some TPlink model) and it connected with ac just fine.4.1KViews0likes3CommentsR9000 5Ghz Radio not enabled although LED showing enabled. 5Ghz Radio not working
My R9000 has the latest firmware (V1.0.2.40), but 5GHz radio not functioning. The 5GHz radio is enabled within the Wireless Settings menu, with SSID enabled and no schedule, but 5GHz signal does not appear available. LED reflects 5GHz radio is working, but Advance tab in menu reflects disabled. No SSID is showing available to any 5GHz clients. Also, I have a R7000 within the environment, which the 5GHz radio is functioning properly and showing accessible by 5GHz clients within the environment. Any ideas why this radio is not functioning?Solved3.9KViews0likes5CommentsNot getting a strong 5ghz signal from Orbi
I have an Orbi pair with RBR50 and RBS50. The Guest wifi is booming through at 5GHz but the private wifi seems to be weak in areas. Having done some analysis it seems as though one of the units isn't transmitting the private network on 5GHZ as can be seen from the attached picture (Guest network seen at -46dB [Strong] and -78dB [Medium] but Home only seen at -77dB [Medium]). You can see that all signals are visible at 2.4GHz. Does anyone have any ideas? Yours, TomNetgear Orbi vs. IOgear Wireless HDMI
Here's a puzzler, where I may know the answer but it's not one I'm going to like... I've had WiFi challenges (new house) since we moved in March... cycled through the provided Optimum/Cablevision D-Link, an Almond+, and a TP-Link Archer C7 with no consistent performance... until this week, when I splurged on a Netgear Orbi base+2 satellite system. A couple of firmware upgrades later and everything is working more smoothly than ever before. There's only one big fly in the ointment: we have an IOgear Wireless HD Digital kit https://www.iogear.com/product/GW3DHDKIT/ to transmit set-top box signal from the 2nd floor, where the cable box (and router) are, to the living room & projector. Although previously the IOgear unit worked (mostly) fine, acquiring signal and keeping good picture quality, last night it failed to sync for minutes at a time, and when it did get a lock the signal was jittery and full of noise. I suspect -- and again, I am not happy to be headed down this road -- that the Orbi's 5GHz backhaul connection between the base and satellite units is stomping on the IOgear's wireless HDMI signal. A handful of Amazon reviews and forum posts indicate something similar. Does anyone have experience with this particular combo? Recommendations for isolating the two bands?N450 CG3000Dv2 How do I enable 5GHz? Photo included
I have searched 5GHz topic but this tech newbie can't find the answer to this: how do I enable 5GHz? Genie shows 2.4 but that's it. Picture shows results of trying to find 5GHz. I would greatly appreciate any help. Talk to me like I'm 10 y.o. THANK YOU!4.8KViews0likes1Comment
