Hi, Scan topics and have not found solution. AC1750 and Genie Issue, Win10 Pro, Enabled Parental Controls, created OpenDNS and appears all appeared well execept WIFI devices not accessing internet. WIFI devices have connection reported by AC1750 console and Genie. Genie version is 2.4.54, AC1750 is V1.0.1.38_1.0.25 So Trying to reset, undo, DNS via AC1750 Web console. Won't allow modifications without disabling Parental Controls. VIA Genie, appears all menu selections working EXPECT depressing Parental Controls results in failed Checking Router Firwmare, check internet connection.... Thus cannot get past this to disable Parental Controls to reset dns settings to get back to orignal configureation before I let the "genie out of the bottle" Cannot change AC1750 DNS settings to undo OpenDNS settings. Don't want to reset AC1750 due to rules, vpn, vlan settings. So 0) Symantec Endpoint firewall disabled. 1) Ethernet Connections working fine with OpenDNS filtering. 2) Genie will not get past detecting router via Parantel Controls. 3) Wifi Not connecting to internet or to AC1750 web console. WiFi Adapter DNS = 208.67.222.222 , 208.67.220.220 4) Web connection to AC1750 shows all PC and Wireless connections active 5) Netgear Genie Shows Network Connections, Wifi connections, router firmware vesion. 6) Genie > Router Settings > returns V1.0.1.36 as expected. I have the Netgear C3000 cable modem and Nighthawk AC1750 router. I want to use the cable modem as "modem only" mode (as it has only 2.4 Ghz router) connected to the AC1750 router (as it has both 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz bandwidths). When I set the cable modem's router option to 'No' and connect the AC1750 router with it using an ehternet cable, I do not have any internet in the AC1750 router; the interet light is red. Can someone give step by step instuctions to do that. I do not have much knowledge about all the options and their meanings in the Netgear Genie application.1.4KViews0likes1CommentR6400/AC1750 sudden drop in wireless speed
Have had an R6400/AC1750 running my wired and wireless cable (Medicaom) connections since 10/2016 with no issues. Did a firmware upgrade a few months ago with no consistent/obvious problems, although a few wireless slow-downs in the subsequent period that I could not pin down. Did notice that there were suddenly issues with the MAC address being required, and had to mirror one from a PC (which it periodically loses). Yesterday I noticed really slow wireless. I pay for 100 Mb/s. If I connect directly to the cable modem, I routinely get about 130. Up until yesterday's measurement, I would get virtually the same wirelessly from the AC1750 anywhere in my house. Yesterday it was 7 (yes, SEVEN) Mb/s wirelessly. I did all the rebootings, powered off for five minutes, etc. Still basically the same. If I wired a PC directly to the ports on the 1750, then good speeds, but wireless was next to nothing. I did a full factory reset on the 1750, and afterward got only 14 Mb/s. Seems there is something severely and suddenly wrong with the wireless transmission speeds. I've got about a month under warranty for hardware, and this is sure feeling like a hardware issue. Any thoughts or previous experiences/resolutions on this issue with the 1750 would be appreciated. I currently have my old Netgear WNDR3400 running and it's delivering about 80 Mb/s wirelessly, so it's definitely an issue with the 1750.SolvedAC1700 WiFi Discounnects
I have a new AC1750 and COX ISP. The WiFi keeps dropping connections to all devices (all go off at once). The devices connected via Ethernet continue to work fine, so I know the issue is not with COX or the cable modem side. Anyone else have this issue and solved it?2.5KViews0likes1Comment"This Serial number has already been registered in our system by a support representative."
Cannot update router, weak signal, purchased around 6 months ago at walmart. We're not sure how to update it or solve the issue with poor performance, so we looked into registering the product in order for support. However, "This Serial number has already been registered in our system by a support representative." shows up when trying to register product for troubleshooting assistance. Please help!2.6KViews0likes1CommentC3000 modem/router --> bridge connecting an AC1750
Will I loose the features of my original AC1750 if I buy my own C3000 modem/router and use that as 1st and bridge the AC1750 behind it? My home isn't tiny so I would like to use both to extend my range across different areas of the house.2.9KViews0likes1CommentUnable to set to Internet time?
Currently using firmware version : V2.01.18 on my C6300. There is no provision to let me set the time, and apparently whoever is setting the time is an hour off from my U.S. Eastern Standard Time. The actual time right now is 10.08am, yet my router thinks it is 9:08am. I have tried setting to 8.8.8.8, wit no difference. How about the next firmware update you allow the user to set the time, either syncing with my computer, or just plain allowing me to put a time/date in. I have tried support chat, and after about twenty minutes with one of your people, they finally realized that there is NO option for me to set the time or date in this router/modem. After my support chat with Netgear, I called Comcast/Xfinity as he suggested. The Netgear support person said that it was Xfinity's fault. Well, Xfinity said that it was my Netgear Router/Modem that is supposed to select the time time zone, and since Netgear doesn't allow me to set the time zone, Xfinity has no idea what time to send to the modem/router. Netgear may call it fingerp pointing, but it can be fixed, by putting the option in for the end user to either specify a time zone, or actually allowing the end user to enter a time/date. Very nice router/modem, but this is just plain stupid that I do not have control over the time/date on it. Will this be fixed in newer firmware for the C6300/AC1750 Cable Modem Router Docsis 3.0?8.3KViews0likes9Commentsc6300 DHCP not assigning internal IPs
Hello everyone, The above modem suddenly stopped internal IPs. Well, it's kind of weird. I just had Spectrum (formerly Time Warner) come out and check the connection, everything is 100% working on their end. The techie said that the modem is defective and I should contact Netgear for assistance, but I think getting a president's phone number is a lot easier than getting in touch with Netgear for troubleshooting :) Based on all my attempts here is the issue, and I have made zero changes to the router itself. I have only the router, connected directly to the cable line, no splits. DHCP stopped assigning internal IPs. Instead of getting the 192.168.0.* IP addresses, I now get 169.254.*.* which does not connect me to the internet. However, if I force in IPs for every device that permits me to, then everything connects just fine. This is true for both wired and wireless conections. Every now and then the WiFi just shuts off. I have to power cycle the modem/router to get it to work. Even after power-cycle the issue in #1 is still true. The above is the main issue. Not sure what else to do. Some of my devices, even though I hardcode a unique IP address, they cannot connect to the internet. These devices are not elaborate, meaning, devices such as my Honeywell Thermostat, my Samsung Fridge, that kind of stuff. Every PC laptop, PC desktop, iPad, iPhone, Galaxy all work. My Apple laptop, does NOT work when I plug in a unique manual IP address. Here is my concern, if the above product is defective, and needs to be replaced, I do not want to purchase another Netgear product because their support is horrible (being honest). Every other company on the planet will help you out, via phone for free, to figure out the issue. Is it the product, is it the user (setttings, etc), is it the service. Netgear though, wants money after 90 days -- which is greedy to me. So, if someone from Netgear here can help me figure this out, that would be great. If not, can anyone else recommend a competitor top of the line product (similar to this item or nighthawk) who offers basic support for these kinds of issues? EDIT: If I am completely wrong about Netgear's lack of assistance, then I will personally apologize ASAP. Thank you all so much.4.6KViews1like1CommentR6300-AC1750 Router doesn't connect to CM600
My R6300 Router will not connect to my new netgear CM600 cable modem. The internet light remains amber. I've done the appropriate power down/reboots on the modem and router with no success. I've done the MAC spoofing of the address of the computer that I used to set up the CM600 on the R6300 with no success. I can connect directly to the CM600 modem with a laptop and internet is fine (the modem is activated with my ISP). Firmware is up to date on all equipment. Additionally the router connects to my CM400 without issue and connected to a previous CM600 before its WAN port died. Does anyone have thoughts as to what I should try next to troubleshoot this?Solved7.7KViews0likes16Comments
