The R9000 Nighthawk X10 comes with a complimentary 6 months Amazon cloud back up subscription. however the settings page on the router UI is massively basic...it only has an option for continous back up of your files to/fro the amazon cloud servers with no way to control how much bandwwidth that feature gobbles up. if you have a fast network and huge bandwidth allowance, you wont notice the effect the feature has on your internet speed my observation is that the R9000 does not prioritise bandwidth allocation and if you have a small internet bandwidth you will wonder why your internet is slow Feature request Netgear, please update the router UI with a bandwidth allocation feature so users can set a limit to how much data bandwidth in percentage % and absolute terms the router can use for the cloud back up10KViews0likes0CommentsReadyNas 6.6.0 - Amazon Cloud Drive first sync launch
Hi, I've been using Amazon Cloud Drive sync on my ReadyNas 6.6.0 for a couple of weeks, and it worked like a charm. 4 days ago, I've unfortunately switched off the service (under Cloud tab), and immediatly switched it on. Thus, the amazon sync service has stopped and restarted. Since then, it says he's looking for changes... I have about 4 TB of data (~5000 files), and my internet connexion is 1GB (fiber). How long it's supposed to take (it's running for +4 days) ? Is there a way to have more details on the ongoing sync process in order to know if it's working or not ? The log file is wery minimalistic (1 line saying he's looking for changes)... Initially it took 2-3 days to copy all the data to Amazon cloud... Many thanks in advance. I have a tried and true ReadyNAS NV+ with latest firmware (4.1.15). Any way I can sync shares with my Amazon Drive with this unit? Model: ReadyNAS NV+ [X-RAID] Serial: 23J30375002A4 Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.15 [1.00a043] Memory: 256 MB [2.5-3-3-7]Solved4.4KViews0likes2CommentsAmazon Cloud Sync app
are there plans to give this app more options? It is a great concept and i am happy it exists, but i have no need (like many) for synchronization. I want to use the cloud for a one way backup from the readynas to the cloud. The fact it tries to shove everything back is crazy. I do however see that it is not a reaynas only problem--on my desktop the amazon software does the same thing, killing the drive it is linked to, unless i make it read only or something bizzare to get around it.SolvedOrbi AC3000 - Amazon Dash Wand does not see 2.4Ghz network
I have an Orbi AC3000 on FW1.12.0.18. Everything appears stable, with one small issue. Today we purchased an Amazon Dash Wand. This is a small mic device that functions with Amazon Alexa. The wand operates only on a 2.4 Ghz frequency. The wand is not seeing the Orbi SSID? I can’t confirm if this is due to a single SSID for both 2.4 and 5 Ghz network. The Wand App never gets to the network authentication screen with Network Name and Password. Is there a method to confirm the problem and correct the issue?SolvedAmazon Alexa
When I connect my Netgear router to Amazon Alexa Wi-Fi, it tells me that the connection to Amazon-44P 2 has no security and would be easy for a hacker to get access. I have Bitdefender Anti-Virus software and it recommends that I use it's "hotspot" to connect. I activated the "hotspot" within Bitdefender and it shows as being active, but I cannot connect my Amazon Alexa to it. I try to connect it to my Netgear71 wi-fi and I still get warned about the no security. Is there a way I can get the Alexa connected to my Netgear wi-fi?SolvedAmazon - Snapshots or full data?
Hi All, I recently turned on Amazon Cloud on my RN104 running 6.6.1. So far everything seems to be working corrently, though I aside from a cursory glance at the folder structure on Amazon I have no idea how much data has moved. I expect the total for the selected shares to be over 700GB, but amazon is not showing any size yet. Maybe once the transfer is done it will show? Anyway, I'm now concerned about Amazon being a two-way sync. Not so much that I would delete something on Amazon, but what if something breaks at amaazon and my files get deleted? or if amazon is hacked and my files get deleted? My understanding that in this siutation the sync would cause my local files on NAS to also get deleted. (please correct me if I'm wrong) Which brings to my real question. I admittedly do not fully understand snapshots. But am now wondering if instead of replicating the actual data to amazon, should I just be replicating the snapshots instead? Or both? I would sleep easier if netgear just made an option to set the amazon sync as one-way or two-way my choice.3.6KViews0likes6CommentsTransfer Ownership of USED Orbi Router RBR50
I bought a USED Orbi Router RBR50 from Amazon.com US in June 19, 2017 and want to have the product re-registered under my name as the NEW owner to avail of all the support associated with the product. The NetGear database shows my serial number has warranty good until February 2018. The website doesn't allow me to re-register or transfer ownership as it requires the email/password combination associated with the serial number used at the time of first registration. I don't have access to that information as I bought the unit as USED from AMAZON. All I have is a screenshot of my proof of purchase from Amazon which again I couldn't upload as part of the registration process as the serial number is already in the database (as still being owned by the person who purchased it brand new). Appreciate any help guys. Thanks!
