Ever since I updated my Nas firmware to 6.8.0, all my apps dissapeared and the available apps page is blank. I really only use one app - Resilio Sync. I downloaded that app directly from Resilio's website but it would not upload or install to my Nas. I also tried reinstalling the firmware 6.8.0 manually but have the same result. Is anyone else having this issue? Any advice? Thanks in advance, ChrisSolvedWhen I select Available Apps on my Atom based RN31400, it shows nothing. Why?
Are there really no pre-built Apps for the non-Intel ReadyNAS series? When I select Available Apps, nothing ever appears. Do I need to cross-compile my own? That would require root ssh access right (which would void my brand new warranty)? Whats the deal?SolvedPlex: var/ftp versus /data
Depending on which icon I click when adding folders to my Plex libraries using its server GUI, the initial folder path is either /var/ftp or /data. See the screenshot below: For example, per the screenshot, adding "Films" through the icon in the left pane of the file tree adds the folder at path var/ftp/Films, whereas clicking on the icon in the right pane of the file tree adds the folder at path data/Films. They're both the same folder. Is there any any difference to either of these methods other than the obvious? Is one method recommended over the other?SolvedReadyNAS 104 wont install any apps FW 6.5.2 (and also 6.6.0)
After some time (was many time that I don't check the apps versions) I have checked the installed applications (one is the Antivirus). I have seen that my version is old. For this reason I have tried to press the update button but I continue to receive error (impossible to install the app and the application list is older, but the system is not able to upgrade this list). I have tried also if there are updates in the firmware (I had the 6.5.2), but also in this case the ReadyNAS notify me that there isn't updates (but I have seen on the readynas forum the version 6.6.0). I have seen the solution related the firmware 6.5.0 (the source.zip to upload in the NAS) but also after this operation the system doesn't works. After these tests I have downloaded the new firmware (6.6.0) and installed manually. Wait the reboot and after retried the upgrade of the Antivirus but also in this case fails. I have checked also the DNS (currently set to the google dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and seems that the internet connection is available. There are additional tests to do? Thanks for the support (and sorry for my English :manembarrassed: )Solved6.1KViews0likes9CommentsRestore function broken: Apps do not work correctly after full restore
When rebuilding a Ultra 6 Plus that had a bad RAID (800GB missing in a 14.4TB array), I had serious problems getting Apps to work. Original System: U6+ (4GB RAM), OS 6.4.1, 14.4TB array. Apps installed: Transmission (as backup: installed but not normally active), Sickrage was NOT installed on the original system. Rebuild procedure: Removed disks and zeroed, Factory reset, started with 1 3.6TB HD to rebuild array. Did a restore from previous build, then added Transmission, Sickrage from Apps>Available Apps. Here's what happened: Transmission: config.json file showed rpc port set to 9091, rpc whitelist at 127.0.0.1. Fixed by SSH'ing in then manually editing file to change port to 8181 (to match ReadyNAS "Launch" specs) and adding 192.168.0.* to whitelist. Web interface available. Sickrage: No files present in /apps/sickrage/app-config. Zip. Nada. Nothing. I considered adding everything in by hand, then decided to rebuild differently. to see if I could fix it. By doing another factory reset then adding apps BEFORE the restore, everything appears to be correct (Transmission: good settings.json file, Sickrage has files in /apps/sickrage/app-config). HOWEVER, when doing an initial update within Sickrage, it breaks the app. The config files are there, but the web interface no longer comes up. I then uninstalled then reinstalled Sickrage to see if it would come up: After reinstalling, there were once again No files present in /apps/sickrage/app-config, so the default install seems to be broken. Apparently, doing a full restore permanently kills the ability to add/change/upgrade/reinstall apps. Is this a Apps problem, or a problem with how OS6 treats App installation after a restore? I suspect the latter. Would choosing to do a partial restore be possible? Is this a "Services" or "Misc" Restore problem? I would rather not have to rebuild my shares, users, services manually. However, if it is the only way to work around the problem with this obviously broken Restore, I'll do so. Logs downloaded and available upon request. Comments, anyone? I'll be doing yet another factory reset and a partial restore to see if I can get around this. <sigh>Apps not appearing or launching...
I wanted to convey an observation, to get it "on the books" so to speak, regarding the available Apps not showing their images on the Available Apps page and after loading an App, getting a 404 page when trying to launch an installed Apps. There's a previous thread regarding the App images not loading but this did not address or mention my finding. My organization has a long-standing file share on its servers named "Apps". I configured the two RN2120 recently purchased (one a v2) with a share using that name (ROS v6.4.2), so my RNAS users would have a similar share names as my Win/'nix server users. This worked fine in the older NVX+ and 2100 RNASes I have deployed. Under these circumstances I experienced the following symptoms: The images for the available Apps on the Available Apps tab were broken. Any of the available Apps would successfully install. (I installed SMB Plus and Anti-Virus Plus) Attempts at launching a properly installed App would result in a new browser page with a 404 error. Apparently, one cannot have a share named "Apps" on ROS 6.x.x systems as it causes a conflict with the built in Apps folder used for the NetGear add-ons, even if my share is located under ../data. Once I figured this out, I renamed my share to "Programs" and the symptoms were addressed. Again... just for the record, should someone else create a share named "Apps".Logitech Media Server: App "off", still running
After upgrading to 6.4.0, Logitech Media Server got slightly borked. The app icon is no longer displaying, the app is permanently listed as "off" (see the screenshot), and yet—thankfully—it's still running. Is there an update to the app that works more reliably with the current OS6? (It was developed by s-p, if I have his new username right.)4.7KViews0likes6CommentsPlex and my readynas 102 and access
