Whenever I boot up my PC my CM500 modem has frequent issues trying to connect to the Internet. I have to restart them modem multiple time before the connection finally occurs. Once the connection is successful, the modem and connection are fine. I have no slow-downs or drops. But if I have to re-boot my computer very often I will have same issues trying to re-establish the connection again. But sometimes I don't and sometimes when I first boot up my PC the connection occurs without issues. My ISP is Spectrum and I notice they still haven't upgraded the modem driver. Netgear support says it should be V1.01.07 but when I check through the Genie GUI page it is V1.01.04. The ISP is supposed to be the one who updates the modem driver, aren't they? Anyway, I would appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve the issue of establishing my Internet conncetion with the modem. Thanks!1.5KViews0likes1CommentHave to Reset my CM500 when I Reboot the Computer
When I have to Reboot my Lenovo ideapad 70017ISK Laptop the Internet quits working. The Ethernet connection shows service and when I run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting it doesn't show any problems but I still can't connect to any Websites with the Browser. What I have to do is Reset the CM500 and then I can connect to the Web again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!1.7KViews0likes4CommentsCM500 weak signal, slow internet.
I have owned my CM500 for two years now and it has worked great for me. However, my roomate and I have recently begun having issues with recieving a weak signal on our devices (even if we're in the same room as the modem and router) and have also noticed slower internet download speeds to our devices. I checked for firmware updates and the download center said there is no firmware for my device so I assume that means it's updated. I decided to check this board before calling my ISP and seeing if it was something on thier end. I briefly checked similiar topics on this board, but didn't see anything immediatly helpful. Any help you can provide would be very appreciated.1.9KViews0likes1CommentUsing cm500 with phone as part of package
I have the triple play from optimum. This includes the phone service that I have no use for but I get an overall better price deal I was told that since the cm500 doesn't support phone, optimum fails to activate the modem when it tried to activate phone service. Had anyone seen a work around to keep triple play and be able to activate this modem?2.1KViews0likes2CommentsCM500 router and Nighthawk D700 (combo - how to disable the modem)
Hi All, I'm a bit new to this level of network config. Background: I have Cable and purchased a stand-alone CM500 Netgear modem and the Nighthawk D700 (modem + router). It worked prior to blowing a fuse that led me now to this point. I previously had it set up where I had wifi. COX->CM500 Modem->D7000 Modem+router I am currently hardwired in through the modem, however when I connect the ethernet cable to the modem/router, I cannot receive any wifi. So I am thinking that I have to (again) disable the modem on the D7000 modem+router. First question: is that in fact what I need to do? (disable the router) And if so, how do I achieve this? Second question: if this is NOT what I need to do, what is the appropriate action? Thanks in advance!2.4KViews0likes1Commentdisable ipv6 CM 500

Hello, Problem: Router R7000 with firmware 1.0.4.30 is connected to Netgear modem CM500 which is connected to ComCast Cable internet. Everything worked fine until yesterday - nothing changed in setup, the internet stops working. Called ComCast - they confirmed they were able to ping the CM500 modem. I connected ethernet cable from modem to laptop - internet works fine. ComCast confirms modem & internet is fine - problem is in the R7000 router. When i connect ethernet cable from modem to laptop, the ethernet light in the modem is green/stable. When i connect the same cable to router, the ethernet light in the modem doesn't light up. Also on the router, the internet light doesn't light up at all. Troubleshooting performed on the R7000 router: Restore to factory settings Power Cycle the router/modem set up Firmware upgrade & repeat the above Installed NetGear genie app and repeated all the above tests I do see the MAC address on the router. Did refresh of laptop internet settings etc. Contact with NetGear Support: Contacted them to see if they honor the 1 year hardware warranty (since my router is still within this period). They asked me to post in this forum and didn't confirm anything about the 1 year hardware warranty - this sounds very weird to me, as clearly something is wrong with the router & I did not cause it to go wrong. Purchased the router from BestBuy and I have the purchase receipt. Can someone help me with how to proceed from here? I am pretty confident that I need to change the router - but I don't want to just buy one myself since the router is 9 months old & within the hardware warranty period. Please advice. Anyone out there know how to get N600/WNDR3400 to work with a new Cable Modem CM500? I've got N600 Ethernet-cabled to the CM500 via the Internet port, but CM500 won't recognize the N600 Wireless Router, never goes from amber to green, like it forgot how to shake hands. Or maybe the CM500 never new how? I thought this NetGear Modem would work with NetGear Wireless Routers... N600 works with XFinity's Cable Modem no problem. CM500 works fine directly connected to my laptop, and gets internet just fine. Your feedback and directions would be most appreciatedSolved8.9KViews0likes2Comments
