Daisy Chain
4 TopicsGS105PE PoE Daisy Chain
Hi, I need (or rather want :smileyvery-happy:) to install two switches in a place where there is no power. My existing network consists of an ASUS WiFi Router and not much else. My plan is as follows: Run power + data via a PoE+ Injector to the first GS105PE Run the second GS105PE off of PoE Passthrough from the first GS105PE Only run data (no power) from the rest of the available ports (PoE only needed to power the switches themselves). I hope this mockup will explain my theory: Will this work? Thanks in advance.SolvedORBI ENDLESS PROBLEMS - I'm totally lost. Totally lost...NEED HELP!
Okay here is my issue: My wifi sucks. My internet connection is awesome. But with ORBI my wifi sucks. I've now gone back totally to basics: 1. I've reset the NV RAM and restored ORBI to factory settings. 2. I've setup ORBI and its two satellites and installed the latest beta firmware 2.1.2.10. 3. I've setup a brand new SSID 4. I've gone into advanced settings and into SCHEDULE and input the correct TIME ZONE so the logs are accurate 4. I've done a speed test through the Orbi App and its fabulous. 320mbps up and 190mbps down on average. 5. I have not touched the QoS page on the advanced menu (which I'm told is troublesome if you do) 6. On the advanced Wifi page Beamforming, Mu-Mimo and Fast Roaming are off. I've tried each of these before in combinations and they are not optimised at the moment so clean is better overall. ALL GOOD. I COULD NOT HAVE A CLEANER SETUP. But now I'm connecting on Wifi through both my Macbook Pro and my iPhone (only two devices connected too so no load on the system!) a. The speeds are 40mbps up and 20mbps down or something like that. b. My main router is in the living room and my two satellites in each bedroom with closed doors. The wifi test that shows speeds of 40mbps up and 20mbps down are with me about 7ft away from the router in the liviing room itself and yes my devices are connected at 5Ghz. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? My settings are all DEFAULT in the main Orbi settings page. Key facts: 1. I have daisy chain enabled though my setup is more like a star sort of setup ish. The router is not in the middle per se but its sort of - see attached apartment plan. You can see where the ROUTER And SATELLITE 1 and 2 are placed. Please help me if there are any advanced settings that I need to tweak to get the Wifi up to speed! ORBI support is absoutely useless giving only 3 months knowing how troublesome their product is. I really want to flog this off and go for the EERO PRO as I'm sure I won't have any issues there. Who cares if I get 20-50mbps less. At least I'm getting Wifi. here I have 300mbps and I'm not even getting 50mbps on Wifi!!!! HELP!!!SolvedOrbi Query - Will an extra third “bridge” satellite help with daisy chain and overall wifi speed imp
In my current setup I have the Orbi router in the living room, then a satellite each in the bedrooms with closed doors. This is setup using daisy chain topology. I’m in India so we have a lot of interference within our walls and environment. The satellite signal in the “attached devices” page of the setup via the Orbi Desktop Login says "GOOD" for both satellites, but keeps dropping out at intervals. Wondering if I place an extra third satellite in the small bridge hallway between the living and the rooms, would the signals and speed improve for wifi overall across the home? Please reference attached floor plan layout of my home to understand how the router and satellites are setup. I’ve marked the third potential satellite placement as SAT 3 bang in the middle of the main router and the other two satellites. I’m running the latest firmware 2.1.1.16 for my device. Thank you.Daisy chain two X6S (EX8000) wifi extenders
I am wishing to daisy chain two EX8000 extenders. I am hoping to use the "mesh" features that this model seems to have. There seems to be a backchannel on the extender. Orbi type features. Does this back channel also get utilized by the second daisy chained extender #2 to the first extender #1? Also, could i daisy chain another model of Netgear extender to the EX8000? I have a EX6200 (ac1200) unit that i would like to try to connect to the EX8000. I also cannot find any documentation on how to do this either. Thanks.2.2KViews0likes1Comment
