Hello. I need to access NAS with RAIDiator 4.2.28 by SSH to add some functionality, but can't enable SSH: no bin file passes the validation. I've tried modules EnableRootSSH_1.0-x86 and ToggleSSH_1.0-x86. So questions: 1) Are there a way to disable or avoid the validation process or install those patches? 2) Are there a safe way to downgrade Raidiator? My second NAS is running the RAIDiator 4.2.27 and SSH is working properly there.Solved5.9KViews0likes8CommentsTWC in NYC and Netgear C3000 Cable Modem - No One is Helping
Hello Everyone, Since last week my internet is not working (Nov 3rd). Somehow my personal (not TWS) Netgear C3000 Firmware is "upgraded" to V2.02.26. Up until that it was working very good! Apparently TWC did some changes on their side, i have had quite a few calls with them since then, and they say they are working with Netgear to fix the issue. Meanwhile since it is my personal (1+ year old netgear router/modem) they have asked me to contact Netgear to downgrade the firmware (not sure who upgraded it in first place!!!). Netgear is requesting to renew the warranty for a price that is more expensive then buying a brand new router/modem from them (or from another company) and TWC is not willing to help. From what i read over the forums there is no way to manually downgrade the firmware to V1.01.11 that TWC is requesting. They don't have any ETA for a support to the issue they caused, I guess the only options i have are: 1. Disconnect from TWC 2. Buy a new modem/router (probably not netgear!) any thoughts?4.3KViews0likes8CommentsX-RAID 2 Operation and Downsizing
I've tested answers in other posts on my NAS and found some of them to be incorrect, so please cite when you can to support your response. Questions: (1) If I lose a disk in a RAID-5 and don't have an equal capacity replacement on hand, can I use a smaller disk to fill in the dead disk's place until the new disk arrives? (This would downgrade the RAID volume to a lower capacity for the interim). (2) Since X-RAID 2 works by creating layers, does the answer to (1) change if my array was originally created on smaller disks, and my temporary disk is the size of the original disks that my volume used to be made of? Or do those layers disappear each time the volume expands? (3) I currently have disks of varying sizes in my array and the ReadyNAS is utilizing 100% of their capacity. If it can do this as they're added to the array, regardless of what order their added, why can't it downsize if there is free space to do so? Please explain this in detail, rather than saying that XRAID is meant to be expandable only (a common answer I've found to similar questions). (4) If anyone knows where there is a full technical specification breakdown for X-RAID 2, please post it. It would be helpful to have an X-RAID bible around for future reference. Thanks for your time! NOTE: For others who are curious the best discussion I've found on X-RAID is at the link below, but it doesn't directly address the questions posted above. https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyNAS-in-Business/Expansion-with-X-Raid2-resulting-sizes-and-different-reported/m-p/969415#U969415.Solved5.9KViews0likes10Comments
