Hi all, I have powered off and disconnected my RBR and 2 RBS 53's. These were replaced by another (newer) mesh system. The new network is functional. Unfortunately, before switching over to the new devices, I did not factory reset the RBK53 devices. They are sitting on my workbench. I need to erase them before selling them or giving them away.. What is the best way to factory reset and erase all stored information (esp passwords) from those things? The long press (with a pin) of the reset button has not always worked when I was using the RBK53. They would pop right back on the network, from what I remember... Thx. AlokeImpossible to install Arlo Go2 camera on Orbi RBK53
The Arlo Go2 camera needs a phone with the Arlo app connected to 2.4GHz. The RBK53 won’t let me choose the network, and the phone always connects to 5GHz. I’m not sure if there’s a way to temporarily disable 5GHz to force the phone onto 2.4GHz for setup. I tried the setup in the Arlo app, but the camera doesn’t chime when scanning the QR code, so I can’t complete the process. The camera worked before, but after the battery ran out and I charged it with a cable, it disappeared from the Arlo app and I’m trying to bring it back. I already have two other Arlo Go2 cameras working fine. Any help on forcing my phone to connect to 2.4GHz would likely let me finish the setup.Orbi RBR50
Sorry if I have selected the "wrong" board, or .... I have the "old" Orbi and a satellite, and I have no problem with them for streaming, Internet, and the like. What I would appreciate information about, though, is suggestions/comments on establishing a Home-only network for security cameras. I do not wish their "signal" to reach the Internet, and so on. I would like routers with the absolute widest range, because I need to mount some cameras on a couple of buildings other than the house. Wired cameras are not a reasonable alternative for what I need. Besides suggestions on the best routers, I would appreciate any information about what wireless cameras to use or to not use. The other buildings are fairly close to the house 20-50 feet, at most. Hopefully, I can get routers (I presume I will surely need more than one) which I can keep in the house and will connect to multi-camera central system. Again, I will appreciate any/all comments and suggestions. Many thanks.Orbi router RBR20 - how do I access a PC on home network while away from home
Hi, I apologise if this is a topic that has been asked before, I cannot find it, if so. I have a Mesh WiFi setup, an RBR20 router, with two RBS20 satellite units. I have connected a small (8-port) switch, via a LAN cable, to the Ethernet port on the router. I can also connect the switch to an Ethernet port on one of the satellite units, all works fine. I can network a couple of servers I have this way, and I connect to them from my laptop. The servers and my laptop are running Linux, but access to the servers is fine. Ping.ssh etc al works flawlessly. My question, and I do not know how to do this, is I want to be able to access one or both of my servers while away from home, again from my laptop. How can I do this? After some research I stumbled upon the information to set up port forwarding on the router. As an example, say one of the servers has an IPMI function, say it has a fixed ip 192168.1.80 (just making the ip up). When I am at home I can connect to this IPMI function from my laptop browser with http://192.168.1.80. But how can I then access the same port/ip when away from home - say from my work place? I setup Port forwarding on router for the IP, e,g, 192.168.1.90 or whatever it will be. But how do I then access this server IP remotely? Many thanks for your helpORBI RBS50Y RBS50 Needs remote controls
Seems like a simple software add? What is up with the lack of remote controls for the ORBI RBR50 series? I have two RBS50Y in active use... Mounted up high and not a easy task to work on. However work great covering two farms. Have 3 RBS50 in active use spread around two farms. Again work great but when needed to do any work I have to go to them. Lack of proper remote controls make these devices a serious pain. Need Remote reboot of each device! Need Remote power control on each device! For for the RBS50Y why is there not a Temp monitor? as They for SURE DONT LIKE THE COLD. You dont need new devices every year? Why not keeping making your devices better and better. Get better quality software. Why is this a problem and why is it not already there. Your products seem to be held back by software than hardware.607Views0likes1CommentNo web interface over WiFi; Fine over Ethernet
Hi, I was using a PC connected to Ethernet. I replaced it with a MacBook on WiFi. I had a heck of a time trying to connect to the Orbi (and a Qnap NAS) web interface in a browser on the Mac. I could not. The Orbi app on the iPad worked, but Safari on the iPad could not access the web interface. Things worked when I used a dock to connect my Mac using Ethernet. There is some setting that blocks access over WiFi (for security reasons) to the Orbi and apparently, the NAS. Where is that. I cannot find it. It must be on the Orbi, blocking port 8080 over WiFi? Thx. AlokeSolvedRBR850 Can't see computers connected to the network.
We are having trouble with our kids playing games on school Chrome books. I can find the IP address on the Chrome book but cannot find it in the Orbi app. Why are they (4 chrome books) hidden in the app. I want to be able to pause their connection.RBR850 How to support https on local network (NOT remote) with nat loopback
Hi, As we all know communication should be encrypted at all times to avoid sniffing and hackers getting into your systems. So I want to secure the communication to my home assistant (webserver) on the local network. I don't want to expose my home assistant to the outside world. I can get a domain and lets encrypt cert but ofcourse this would resolve to my public ip, which does not work on the local network unless you allow traffic from the internet to get access to your local home assistant. I don't want this! Unfortunately the RBR850 does not allow me to register and route local traffic for my home assistant url. Nor does the RBR850 allow to set a DNS server of my own (wtf). So last resort appear to be NAT loopback. My knowledge on this is low and I've seen some complaints on this forum about setting up NAT loopback which go way beyond my cap. The poor documentation about this from NETGEAR doesn't help either. So does anyone know how to do this? Or should I return the RBR850's?SSID is Duplicate Please Change Error
So, I have the RBRE960 with the latest firmware (V7.2.6.21_5.0.20) running 2.4ghz, 5ghz, and 6ghz wifi. I'd like all three wifi networks to use the same SSID. This support article says that, by default, Orbi uses the same name and password for all three of these networks: https://kb.netgear.com/000064265/How-do-I-change-the-6-GHz-WiFi-network-name-and-password-on-my-Orbi-WiFi-6E-System However, when I attempt to make the 6ghz SSID match the 2.4 and 5ghz networks I get a popup error that says: The SSID is duplicate, please change to another one. Is there any way around this? From what I can tell setting these to be the same will work best with my iPhone 15 allowing it to select whichever network provides the best signal. As it is, if i connect to the 6ghz and walk too far away I start having issues and have to manually switch to the other SSID that doesn't have the -6ghz behind it.Solved
