New Orbi user here. Should I update from V1.12.0.18?
I installed the RBK53 system and its working really well right out of the box on V1.12.0.18. Should I leave well enough alone or go ahead and update the firmware? I’m comfortable with doing these sorts of operations but have noted that some users have had bad results with Orbi systems after updating. Is there a consensus here about whether or not to update? According to the website, I have to contact my ISP to upgrade my firmware on my modem, but my ISP says that the manufacture sends out updates to them and it will eventually be updated. My only issue is that Netgear's website shows that I should be on firmware 01.01.13 and I am currently on 01.01.08. Is there a way to get my firmware updated? I am having random connectivity issues and I am trying to troubleshoot both my cable modem and wireless router. Two separate issues seem to happening. I have wireless access but no internet, and after a reboot of the cable modem everything is fine. Other issue is wireless drops and reconnects. Everytime I have to reboot the cable modem. Any answers would be appreciated!
