Hi, I remember first installing the R7000, I was displayed with either AP mode (not sure if that was what it was called) or regular mode. I chose AP mode, as I had slower connections on regular mode. Now that there have been so many updates, I want to update my R700 for security purposes. However, I am unable to do so, as everytime I try 192.168.0.1 or routerlogin.com. I am taken to my modems menu and not my netgear R7000 menu. The modem is a Netgear CG3000-2STAUS (Yes Optus provided modem). I've looked through many articles that have been suggested to me; however, none of them have address my issue. I tried restting both the modem and router, and when I do, all my devices are still connected to the router. Everything is the same and nothing changes when I try to reset. I hope there is an answer out there, tecnical support via telephone has passed, and so has the warranty.Solved745Views0likes11CommentsWN3000 software is painful - only thing is Smart Setup which erases everything already configured
Please do not make your GUI software for the least experienced users. Allow experienced users to set it up without the use of the wizard. There is a section in the GUI for changing ONLY the transmitted/served network name(SPID) and passwords. But no way to change ONLY the router's/received network. The only way to redirect the WN3000 to another router is Smart Setup wizard which throws away everything you have done and starts all over with everything. And is very slow. When a truck drives by, the signal from the router is temporarily blocked and the WN3000 drops that connection and connects to another one which is not correct. It does not restore the original connection after the truck is gone. To fix the error I need to change ONLY the router to which the WN3000 is connected. It appears that in the GUI the only way to do that is to run Smart Setup again - which takes a long time(15 minutes at least) - plus Smart Setup throws away my served network SPID I have defined and substitutes xfinitywifi_EXT. With no password. All I want to do is quickly redirect to the router of my choice to get the most reliable signal. I don't want to have to run Smart Setup 5 times a day. Are there any command line commands to control this thing?2.7KViews0likes1CommentWhat version of GS724T does not require JAVA?
Hi all, Does anyone know if GS724Tv2 requires Java Runtime for its web interface? I need a GS724T that works without Java but it seems that version 3 (GS724Tv3) onward DOES require it. Unforunately, the online manual for GS724Tv2 appears to be a little too generic and points to the same one as GS724Tv1 as well as several other FSxxxT range switches so I can't trust that information... Hi All, I'm hoping somebody can help me here. A couple of months ago I realised I was no longer able to access the GUI of my ReadyNAS anymore to configure the device. I remember the night before both uninstalling an app at some point and also installing a new firmware when prompted. I can't remember nor am sure which has caused the issue. Since then though I can't connect to the Netgear GUI at all. I can however browse the shares from all devices. I can also use RAIDAR to discover the device, but when I try to use any of the features to gain access I get prompted for a username and password - my original username and passwords do not work anymore so I can't seem to do any more. I tried SSH as found at the below link but it didnt work. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/Can-t-access-web-GUI-setup/td-p/927583/page/2 Please can somebody offer some help and advice so that I can get my NAS up and running again please? Many thanks Matt2.3KViews0likes1Comment
