ReadyNAS 104 Help Needed - Uninstalled App and cannot access GUI/Manage device

Hi All,

 

I'm hoping somebody can help me here. A couple of months ago I realised I was no longer able to access the GUI of my ReadyNAS anymore to configure the device. I remember the night before both uninstalling an app at some point and also installing a new firmware when prompted. I can't remember nor am sure which has caused the issue.

 

Since then though I can't connect to the Netgear GUI at all. I can however browse the shares from all devices. I can also use RAIDAR to discover the device, but when I try to use any of the features to gain access I get prompted for a username and password - my original username and passwords do not work anymore so I can't seem to do any more.

 

I tried SSH as found at the below link but it didnt work.

Please can somebody offer some help and advice so that I can get my NAS up and running again please?

    At the RAIDar prompt, the username it wants is "admin", and it needs the admin password for the NAS.

     

    It is possible to reset the admin password by doing an OS reinstall from the front panel.  See page 24-25 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/READYNAS-100/RN_OS_6_Desktop_HW_UM_12Oct2015.pdf

     

    The OS reinstall should be non-destructive, and it resets the password to "password".  It also resets the network settings to use DHCP with now NIC bonding.

     

     

    Another option is to do a backup (since you have share access), and rebuild the NAS from scratch (restoring data from the backup).

     

     

    Finadlly, Support can access the NAS remotely (though they will charge), and fix it.
