46 TopicsRN204 issues with 1 disk
Hi All, My RN204 has been workign perfectly for well over 5 years so I was long overdue a problem ha ha A little extra info:- Disk 1 - 2TB Disk 2 - 2TB Disk 3 - 3TB Disk 4 - 2TB All in X RAID (RAID 5) around 2.5TB free space left, 23GB of snapshots After I upgraded the firmware to 6.2.5 latest the other day (coincidence I think) I started to get a lot of AAT errors on Disk 3. I removed the disk and tried to put a 1TB in its place but it came up with the flashing data degraded and kept doing so and did not even try and add the new 1TB disk into the pool. I put the original 3TB disk back in, and it started to recover data (albeit very slowly) 5% in 24 hours. So my question is, once it has recoved all data, should I be able to just add a 2TB drive (looking at the free space above of 2.5TB) I should have around 500GB of spare space? Thank you in advance for any help1.6KViews0likes6CommentsNasDuo Instalation Disc - no link for it online
I have been searching for the installation disc for the NASDua 2110, however it is not available on the netgear website. I downloaded the one for 2100, however no program will open it up. Sadly they don't even list that model number. Can anyone help out?712Views0likes1CommentCannot access admin page
Updated several RNAS 312's with firmware 6.9.3. -Also updated a 212 with 6.9.3. After the update, RAIDar application 6.3.0 can no longer access the 312's on the internal network through login. Can access the shares via "browse" and thru ReadyCloud....but not thru local or Cloud admin page login. Did not affect the RNAS 212. Ideas? Suggestions on restoring local login with RAIDar app?7.2KViews0likes20CommentsExternal USB3 drive not detected after update to firmware 6.9.3 on readynas104
After updating to firmware 6.9.3 yesterday, the device is no longer detecting my external USB3 hard drive. I've plugged the drive into my macbook and it doesn't appear to have any issues. Drive is a WD My Book, 3TB, formatted with NTFS. I'm not seeing it detected on either hotplug into the readynas104 or on reboot (via dmesg) as a usb or block device. It's also not listed via fdisk -l. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can someone from netgear confirm the issue with this firmware version?715Views0likes2CommentsPeriodic "Error communicating with UPS 'UPS'" Error
This appears to have been seen in earlier firmware but I'm getting it in 6.9.2. I receive email alerts saying there is a problem then immediately another message saying its ok again. Happens a few times each day. Its a replacement cyberpower Value800ELCDGP - which I have had before. Connected via USB. The previous one failed outside warranty, but I still bought one anyway as it seemed comparitively good value - all UPS fail it seems, no matter how much you spend. Need to know whether it is a problem with this instance of the uPS or another firmware problem with disk spindown (or a regession of the original problem).2.5KViews0likes13CommentsRN104 Freeze with "ext4_writepage+478" error
Hi All, So yesterday I got home to find my RN104 had frozen, with the error "ext4_writepage+478" displayed on the front. It would respond to pings on the network, but all other access was unresponive (GUI, SSH etc). The only option was to pull the plug. On restarting, it is now re-syncing data to Drive 3, which is going to take a while given I have 4 x4TB (10TB Net) drives in the box. The drives are all WD Red's and less than a year old so am relatively sure it wouldnt be a true drive fault - no SATA errors are reported. Only recent change was upgrade to firmware 6.7.5 on June 28th. Anyone else experienced this? I have captured the logs ready for any passing experts ;-) CHeers, Nick5.6KViews0likes20CommentsCannot access admin page
I recently updated my ReadyNAS to firmware 6.7.5, after updating I am unable to access my admin page. I have tried a couple of things so far. I've tried rebooting, access the drive from http://your-ip-address/fwbroker, and even the USB recovery tool. All of them have failed or not responding. I really need to access this NAS to back up our information to an external HDD753Views0likes2CommentsRN102 power led keeps blinking after firmware update
After bringing the V1.3.0.20_10.1.1 down and installing it, during the restart, the power light began flashing and I could no longer get the device to load. Is there a way to restore the firmware or does anyone else have suggestions?993Views0likes2CommentsReboot ALWAYS fails after firmware upgrade on ReadyNAS RR4312X
Hi, I've just upgraded our NetGear ReadyNAS RR4312X from 6.8.0 to 6.9.1 and actioned a reboot using the webUI after the upgrade. However once again (this happens after every FW upgrade), the system fails to come online again. The system doesn't even respond to PINGs. - We have to power cycle the system after every upgrade to get it back online again. NB: The firmware installs successfully everytime, so it's just the reboots afterwards that are problematic. Not good for remote sites! Any idea's please? P.S. my entered text 'ReadyNAS RR4312X wont save in the 'Model' section of this web support form.1.6KViews0likes7Comments
