When trying to shutdown my ReadyNAS 204 it hangs with an error of do_exit+9ec on display. The only way to recover is to disconnect the AC power cord and reconnect. I have the most current version of firmware as of 05/27/17. Version 6.7.4. Same error occurs regardless of how it is done. Occurs when shutting down from the power button or from the system device webpage. Any suggestions? Had a similar problem when I first purchased this unit. A beta firmware solved the problem then. The problem reappeared when upgrading to the next publicly available released firmware. Please advise. Thank you.12KViews0likes64CommentsCant enable SMB on ReadyNas 316
Hi, I noticed that SMB service on my ReadyNas 316 with version 6.9.3 stopped working 2 days ago and I can't turn it on. At first I didnt see the shares and after reboot, I saw that SMB was turned off. I have tried to search for any solutions but I cant find one. I really don't want to do an factory reset. What I tried so far: OS Reinstall Downgrade from: 6.9.3 -> 6.9.1 -> 6.9.0 -> 6.8.1 and then back to 6.9.3 = None version is working Update pagages with "apt upgrade" When I run "systemctl status -a smb": root@NAS:~# systemctl status -a smb smb.service - Samba SMB Daemon Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/smb.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Sat 2018-04-28 13:18:04 CEST; 49s ago Process: 8988 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/smbd --foreground --no-process-group $SMBDOPTIONS (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE) Main PID: 8988 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE) Apr 28 13:18:03 NAS systemd[1]: Starting Samba SMB Daemon... After the automated disk maintainance had ran I found it could no longer be discovered on the net. So I powered down and up my RN204 to find the weird 'resyncing' message on the LCD screen. Took several hours to resync. After that I find no volumes on the NAS and the confusing error message in my RAIDar screen with status message that volume data is rad level 5 and there is 0 MB data. Also a second volume that is new with same message, both in yellow highlight. Wen I log in as Admin I find a 'Please remove inactive volumes in order to use the disk. Disk #1,2,3,4 in order to use the drive' and the disks marked in red instead blue in the picture of the raid. Not shure what caused this, nor how to solve this. Use Readynas 204 with four bays containing identical 6 TB WD60EFRX drives (none of them indicating errors in SMART) in RAID 5 (Xraid) confing on lastest FW (v6.8.0) No clue how to solve this error. Can someone please help me with some advice? Thanks Hans1KViews0likes3CommentsError Messages

This morning, my email notification reported the following error: "Volume: Balance failed to start for volume data." I searched for this message on the community forum, and the documentation, but no reference to this specific message. What does it mean? What action is required. Hi All, I recently purchased a second ReadyNAS RN102. Both ReadyNAS RN 102's are running on OS 6.6.0 and are on the same network. I enabled ReadyNAS Replicate on both devices and registered them with the same ReadyNAS Replicate account. Both have static IP addresses, are a part of the same DNS server with 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.2.2 added as alternative DNS's, and IPv6 is disabled completely. Eventually, I want to be able to move one of these devices to another location, but still have them replicate to each other. When I create a job that is supposed to replicate some data (a small amount for test purposes) from one ReadyNAS to the other (and vice versa), I receive the below error in an email message stating, "Unable to get local p2p address". [2016-10-25 10:57:37] [Info] Replicate version: 1.3.0 build R2 [2016-10-25 10:57:37] [Info] Starting backup job "Data Backup [2016-10-25 10h 37m AM]" [2016-10-25 10:57:37] [Info] Locking target folder: /data/Replicate-Test/Data Backup [2016-10-25 10h 37m AM] [2016-10-25 10:57:38] [Info] Resume folder is "/data/Replicate-Test/Data Backup [2016-10-25 10h 37m AM]/2016-10-25 10-39 (failed)/data" [2016-10-25 10:57:38] [Warning] Incremental not possible [2016-10-25 10:57:48] [Error] Unable to get local p2p address [2016-10-25 10:57:48] [Error] Unable to get p2p local ip address [2016-10-25 10:57:48] [Info] Unlock target folder: /data/Replicate-Test/Data Backup [2016-10-25 10h 37m AM] [2016-10-25 10:57:48] [Info] Job finished No actual data from one server is transfered to the other, HOWEVER, empty folders are created to prepare for the backups every time I run the job. Please see this picture: This implies that at least the cloud is able to communicate with the two ReadyNAS devices, but the two devices are not able to communicate with each other. This leads me to a few questions: After ReadyNAS Cloud connects to both devices, is there a point where the devices are attempting to communicate directly with each other. This would make sense. If there is a firewall issue, my firewall may be allowing the ReadyNAS Cloud to pass, but not the other ReadyNAS device. But both devices are on the same network. Idk. If it is a port issue, what port does ReadyCloud use to communicate? Any tips of the trade would be highly appreciated.4.9KViews0likes12Comments
