Hello, all. A few months back I purchased a unlimited data plan with at&t along with this hotspot in order to game on the Xbox One with it. So, I get on Xbox to find that I have a Strict NAT. I know many here would automatically point me towards a beginners guide on port forwarding but, that's my problem. I did that. I port forwarded everything it asked me to, I tried it both with a static IP and without a static IP. I reset my Xbox time and time again along with clearing the MAC address (After every change to the settings I the modem I made, I reset my Xbox and made sure to unplug it for at least a minute and drain the power block). Hell, I even tried to enable DMZ, knowing that it was dangerous and it STILL didn't open my NAT. My model of nighthawk has UPnP, but that doesn't work either for some reason. In the network settings of the Xbox it says the following: IPv4 NAT Type: Strict UPnP not successful xbox.com/xboxone/UPnP All services are available. I went to the link provided here and tried their method to make UPnP work. It didn't. I attached a screenshot of my attwifimanager page show what I did to port forward (I blocked out my static IP because I didn't know if it would be safe to share here) I would be grateful to anyone who could give me a STEP BY STEP for this model/at&t solution. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong because I've been trying to fix this for months.Wifi Extender for Wired Gaming

My husband and I are NOT techies and all we want is to both we able to play against either other online on our respective PS4s in the same house - different rooms. We have xfinity, and just firgured our cheap little router they gave us was the problem. So we picked up this nighthawk router. We got the moderately priced option. Fearing the cheapest would be too weak, but we live in a small apartment so we didnt want the heavy duty one either. We got home and hooked it up like it says in the booklet. It is up and running just fine. IT WONT LET US PLAY TOGETHER. It keeps kicking us saying we dont have internet, yet when we run the net work connection test, it looks to be connected at top speed. PLEASE help. This is the only reason we bought the router and it doesn't seem to be helping! Did we get in over our head or can this still be set up to work?Solved4.1KViews0likes2CommentsNighthawk 16 port Gaming & Streaming Switch
I currently use a Netgear proSafe GS116 switch for my living room to power my game consoles and entertainment systems. I wish there was a product like Nighthawk S8000 Gaming & Streaming Switch with 16 ports cause 8 isn't enough for my house. My current switch has 3 extra ports so I do need the 16 and don't want to daisy chain a bunch of Nighthawk S8000 Gaming & Streaming Switches. To daisy chain would eliminate 2 out of the 16 which would leave me 1 for growth. My gs116 works great but it would be nice to have a made for my situation device instead of a adapted for my purpose device.9.8KViews0likes0CommentsAC1200 Choppy connections, Had N600 Dual-Band, was fine
Well I had a WNDA3100v2 – N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter before and it crapped out on me. Looks like it just went dead from years of use. I went to the store and bought the current model that I'm using, the AC1200, I started to experience choppy connections online while gaming. The N600 was fine, no connection issues and only slowed down if other people were heavily using the net. Now my ping time in game is 10-20ms but i'm experiencing spikes where the connection is choppy. I look and I see no fluctuation of ping. Streaming videos is fine, downloads are fine. I installed the new drivers without the genie right off the bat and it was spiking. I then installed the genie to see if it would fix it. Did not work. Reset the router. Still spiking. I'm about to go return it. It seems like it's a hardware issue, weird how the lesser model outperforms.3.1KViews0likes1CommentNetgear R7000 and R8500 comparison for gaming
I'm considering to buy a new Router-only. I need it to have a very strong signal for a very large house and I want it to be specifically though for gaming (QoS, low lag etc...) And the worst issue I currently have is that when I'm gaming I have to ask everyone else in the house to avoid using the internet or I start lagging very high. So I would like the new router to mitigate this as much as possible! To compare the two I've used the comparison feature here: https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/?cid=wmt_netgear_organic In the R700 I can see things like these that are not available in the R8500: Advanced features for lag-free gaming Upstream & downstream QoS for best gaming & video streaming experience Airtime fairness prevents network lag when slower devices connect I do not know what those features actually are and how effective they are for gaming. Also the R700 specifically talk about gaming while the R8500 doesn't. Can you tell me which of these is the best suited for gaming and why / how? (or if there are other models that are even better?) I'm aware there's a big price difference. I just want to get the best device I can for my two needs (WiFi for big house + best gaming experience possible) and I'm fairly ignorant of these things and need advice. Thank youSolved6.7KViews0likes13CommentsSeeking for help about UPnP issue. (PS4 Gaming GBONEXT)
To All Friends, Thank you for reading my post. My issue is, why sometimes my UPnP rules are not correctly generated. I'm a PS4 player who mainly play Gundam Battle Operation Next. Normally, from openning PS4 until I login the game, it will generate 3 different UPnP rules. 1. UDP 9308 This one usually appears after I tested or retested the networking of PS4 2. UDP 9305 & UDP 9306 They appear when I am logging in the game However, sometimes I can never have 9305,9306 and 9308. All I have are randomly generated UPnP rules whish will have bad effect on gaming. I asked other players, when you have UDP 9306, the networking during the game is the best and the most stable one. Reboot PS4, reboot router, clear and reopen UPnP have no use. I have to wait, sometimes 2-3 hours and things goes normal again. Is this the problem of my ISP, or I should do some settings? If somebody had ever played the game, you will know the game needs strong networking. If you disconnected during the battle it will have penalty. Wish you guys can give me some help Best regards RX-78Solved
