MR1100 – Nighthawk M1 Strict NAT on Xbox Issue
Hello, all. A few months back I purchased a unlimited data plan with at&t along with this hotspot in order to game on the Xbox One with it. So, I get on Xbox to find that I have a Strict NAT. I know many here would automatically point me towards a beginners guide on port forwarding but, that's my problem. I did that. I port forwarded everything it asked me to, I tried it both with a static IP and without a static IP. I reset my Xbox time and time again along with clearing the MAC address (After every change to the settings I the modem I made, I reset my Xbox and made sure to unplug it for at least a minute and drain the power block). Hell, I even tried to enable DMZ, knowing that it was dangerous and it STILL didn't open my NAT. My model of nighthawk has UPnP, but that doesn't work either for some reason. In the network settings of the Xbox it says the following: IPv4 NAT Type: Strict UPnP not successful xbox.com/xboxone/UPnP All services are available. I went to the link provided here and tried their method to make UPnP work. It didn't. I attached a screenshot of my attwifimanager page show what I did to port forward (I blocked out my static IP because I didn't know if it would be safe to share here) I would be grateful to anyone who could give me a STEP BY STEP for this model/at&t solution. I need help with figuring out what the best option for me is. Im currently wanting a wired connection for my online gaming but fpr reason unknown to me im not allowed to be directly plugged into the router would it be better to use a wifi connection or buy a wifi range extender with and ethernet port connect it wirelessly and run the ethernet to my xbox?
Nighthawk 16 port Gaming & Streaming Switch
I currently use a Netgear proSafe GS116 switch for my living room to power my game consoles and entertainment systems. I wish there was a product like Nighthawk S8000 Gaming & Streaming Switch with 16 ports cause 8 isn't enough for my house. My current switch has 3 extra ports so I do need the 16 and don't want to daisy chain a bunch of Nighthawk S8000 Gaming & Streaming Switches. To daisy chain would eliminate 2 out of the 16 which would leave me 1 for growth. My gs116 works great but it would be nice to have a made for my situation device instead of a adapted for my purpose device.AC1200 Choppy connections, Had N600 Dual-Band, was fine
Well I had a WNDA3100v2 – N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter before and it crapped out on me. Looks like it just went dead from years of use. I went to the store and bought the current model that I'm using, the AC1200, I started to experience choppy connections online while gaming. The N600 was fine, no connection issues and only slowed down if other people were heavily using the net. Now my ping time in game is 10-20ms but i'm experiencing spikes where the connection is choppy. I look and I see no fluctuation of ping. Streaming videos is fine, downloads are fine. I installed the new drivers without the genie right off the bat and it was spiking. I then installed the genie to see if it would fix it. Did not work. Reset the router. Still spiking. I'm about to go return it. It seems like it's a hardware issue, weird how the lesser model outperforms.
