Does anyone know of a router that has 2.5 Gbs+ wan and lan ports for less than $300? VPN would be nice but not necessary. Does not have to be wireless either. Thank you very much! Could be a business or home router. For the life of me I don't understand why they are separate in sales and in forums since you could (and I have on many occasions) certainly buy a business router for home use. Do I need to post this again under home routers? Thanks again!1.3KViews0likes4CommentsSite to site iPSec VPN with two BR500 VPN router
Need help! We're an elementary non-profit school with 2 small campuses. We have been using Netgear SRX5308 router in one campus and a Netgear BR500 router on the other campus. It has been running fine for the last 3 years+ with an IPSec VPN. We recently had problems with the SRX5308 and replaced it with an used BR500. Although we set up the replacement BR500 with the same settings as the other one, it would not establish the VPN. We checked and tried the following already without any success: 1) Firmware on both routers are the same at V5.10.0.5. 2) We had a slight custom Phase 1 and 2 VPN parameter settings but changed it to the default ones per the Netgear user manual. 3) We changed each site as Initiator and Responder combinations 4) Both routers are behind Comcast modem/router and we tried opened the firewall completely. We would appreciate any suggestions what we may have missed. Thank you in advance for the help! BR500 router upgrade firmware to 5.5.0.1 from 5.1.0.15 and it no longer connects to Insight Cloud. One thing I did notice when I went to look in the logs was the BR500 was reporting dates of May 31, 2017 yesterday and June 1, 2017 today. My first inclination is to try to put 5.5 update on again. Insight BR500 VPN Firewall Router We have a BR500 router and GC728P switch that are set up with Insight. Some of the BR500 features are not available via Insight, so we connect directly to the BR500. The BR500 management page is accessible from a client on VLAN-1 (LAN1 172.23.1.0/24) only. There are other VLANs on the router and switch. Each of the VLANs is working as expected. I would like to be able to get access to the managmement web page from VLAN-10 (LAN4) with subnet 172.23.10.0/24. When I am connected to a switchport with VLAN-10 as the access (untagged), the message on the browser is: 404 Not Found This server does not support the operation requested by your client. When connected to a switchport on VLAN-1, or directly to a port on the BR500, I can access the page. I have added and ACL on the BR500 to allow LAN4 to communicate to LAN1, but that did not make a difference. VLAN trunking between the switch and router appears to be correct as there are WAC505's with WiFi working fine. Can the BR500 be accessed from anywhere other than the default management VLAN-1/LAN1? I would like to configure a network like this: Using the SRX5308 firewall and a netgear switch with VLAN support. This should be simple, but i can not find any way in the manual of the SRX to configure so that each VLAN can reach the internet but none of the VLANS can see eachother. Additionally i can not determine if i can create firewall rules in the SRX that will be specific for one VLAN (say i wanted to open certain traffic to one VLAN and not to another.) The reason for this setup is that i want to divide a network in a small company for security reasons, and i do not want to use multiple firewalls as that leaves me with double-nat problems later on. Thanks for any help in advance :-) Best regards Kristoffer Can someone verify if this can be done6KViews0likes9Comments
