24 TopicsAssigning an Insight Cloud Uplink Port
I'm trying to reconfigure my home network ahead of a fiber install next week. My goal is to connect my Netgear switch to my Unify Dream Machine Pro Max via a 10G DAC (port 10 on the switch) and to my Wifi AP on the 2.5 gig port 1 of the switch. I have my network segregated into five (5) VLANs (1 Management, 2 Secure, 3 Guest, 4 IoT, 5 Cameras) and I can't seem to get my port configuration correct. I think I want to assign ports 1 and 10 (to the AP and Gateway) as Trunk Ports but as soon as I do Insight loses its Uplink Port. If I plug in another cable from the gateway and unplug port 10 it reconnects and the "Uplink" switches to port 8 (the newly plugged in port). When I then reconnect port 10 it takes over as the uplink and the router blocks port 8, IIRC having 2 lines connected between the same devices can cause a loop/flood so I can kind of understand why it would do that. So, if assigning port 10 as a trunk for all of my VLANs kills the uplink to Insight how do I configure the ports to Trunk my VLANs from Gateway-->Switch-->AP while maintaining an uplink to Insight? Is there a way to permanently assign port 8 (or another port) to the cloud uplink while allowing the trunk ports between all three devices? I eventually intend to move my PC and some storage over to the switch but I can't until I figure out how to get all three devices talking to each other properly.1.3KViews0likes4CommentsSetting MTU on GS108Tv3
Hello all, I would like to enable a large MTU going from my NAS to several devices, across 3 linked GS108Tv3 switches. It seems setting MTU on the switch is an all or nothing option, meaning when I enable it then its enabled on all switch ports. If I have a device that is connected to these switches, but does uses the default MTU, will I run into problems bc the port is configured for 9K? Thanks, SteveSolvedMS510TXUP which sfp+ transceovers?
Hi, Which sfp+ transceivers are officially suggested for MS510TXUP please? I have pair of Mikrotik as they auto negotiate below 1G and up to 10G inc 2.5G & 5G in between and where £60 each. The Netgear ones I've seen online are £300 each and don't know why? Any advice please?702Views0likes2CommentsGC752X - Insight alerts, multiple times per day, false reporting
I continually receive emails telling me that the switch is offline (when it's not) and then when it supposedly comes back online.... Like this: The following device resumed communication with the NETGEAR Insight cloud service at approximately 21-Sep-2023 11:18 What can I do to fix this? This happens repeatedly some days, and then we'll go for weeks without any issue. Very annoying2.3KViews0likes10CommentsGC510P shows disconnected but is working
Symptom: Insight shows 4 of my 6 switches as disconnected, but they are working fine. I have 6 GC510P switches at a location. When looking at the switches, they all show they are connected to the Internet (blue light is on). They are all functioning properly (various cameras and access points on separate vlans all work). When I use Insight to look at the switches, 4 of them show "device is disconnected"; it's been this way for over a week. They got out of sync when I upgraded the firmware. In the past, they only way I could get Insight insync with the switches is to manually reboot each switch. The location is connected to the network using an airbridge. I don't know if this impacts something. Any ideas on why the hardware isn't in sync with Insight? TIA, Louis741Views0likes2CommentsGC752XP Switch Firmware 1.0.5.38 Issues high CPU Rebooting
I started having issues recently on firmware 1.0.5.38 with high CPU and random reboots after using more ports than normal. I have IGMP snooping disabled on VLAN's and have two Insight switches. I noticed I had a POE camera that was flapping a port due to it's own issues, so the port and POE were turned off. However, the switch issues continued. I was able to downgrade to 1.0.5.36 and unplugged everything from the switch except LAN and Internet access. Booted and connected to Insight fine. Thought maybe corrupt firmware update through Insight, I manually downloaded from website and installed back 1.0.5.38 through local console. Shortly after booting it went back to 90+% utilization and after 6 minutes rebooted. Further reboots all yielded same issue. I've been on FW 1.0.5.36 continuously for over a day and not having any issues with CPU utilization around 20%. So I'm eliminating any hardware issues with connected devices or the switch itself as it's been stable on this version.3KViews0likes9CommentsGC728X SFP+ only 1Gb

I have a problem with one on 2 SFP+ port where, when i connect 10 Gb device, port still using 1 Gb; i tried to force to 10 Gb but never changed. If I attach this device to another SFP+ port on another switch connection speed are 10 Gb as same if I attach this device on second SFP+ port in this switch. Hello, I'm having a problem acquiring telnet connection to the S3300-28x. I have enabled Remote Debugging, but this doesn't affect the ports. I've scanned the IP via nmap tool and the only available port is 80, which is TCP for HTTP connection. Default port 23 doesn't work, nor port 24 does. What am I missing?994Views0likes0Comments
