I have a readyNAS duo that I can't map in windows 10, limits the functionality of drag and drop file storage. I can FTP into the NAS from the computer. The Windows File Explorer sees the drive in the Network but clicking on it opens the admin web page for the ReadyNAS. I have tried to add the LSA compatability in the registy and stopped using a PIN in favor of password to sign on to windows. This is really annoying.Solved61KViews0likes18CommentsWrong username / password on Ready Nas Duo v2
Since I am a grown up, I am not supposed to barge in to this forum and just yell that this product is crap. I really can't say that before I have managed to actually login to it, can I? Have to admit that that really pissed me off. Have set up what feels like a hundred NAS-disks at work, and this is my second one at home. So, I install the disk inside, and hook up the net. Use the raidar and finds the NAS-disk at first try. According to the manual the username / password should be admin / netgear1. According to my loginattempts on both Firefox and IE, that is not correct. Is this an common error? How do I rectify it? Do I really have to start my ReadyNas career by resetting the tincan before I have been able to log into it?Solved48KViews0likes9CommentsCannot connect to ReadyNAS with windows 10
I have some time ago updated to windows 10 hoping that I had chosen a late update where most bugs had been identified and solved. However, I cannot connect to my ReadyNAS Duo. I can see the NAS via Raidar, which is showing the NAS as healthy (firmware 4.1.14) and in full function but I can get any kind of access. I have tried to implement most of the tricks already shown for connection issues with Windows 10 but non has so far worked for me. Either because I have not had the skills to do the corrections correctly or becuase my problem is another. I have tried to add windows and microsoft log-ins for the NAS - but I may have done this in a wrong way - I´m not sure. I have also installed most recent updates to Windows 10, I have checked that I have most recent netgear driver for my router, and I have made sure to have the most recent firmware for the router (Netgear genie firmware V1.1.2.58). I would appreciate any help from this very knowlegdeable forum - preferably in a non-expect lingo. Thanks a lot :) best regards, KirstenSolved45KViews0likes14CommentsWindows 10 Install: no longer able to access NAS shares
Hi, I upgraded 3 days a go to Windows 10 Enterprise build 16299. It was an installation from scratch I sadly have no longer access to any of my SMB shares. Access was working on Windows 7: see image below - I tried dropping to SMB1 in SMB Application + reboot both PC and NAS: no success - I disabled IPV6 under LAN adapter in Windows 10: no success - I enabled every sharing option under Windows 10 for both Private and Public networks: no success Using cmd in admin console to map the network share: net use * /delete net use t: \\nas-ip-address\data /user:admin nas-admin-password Under the shell cmd, I have access to the shares and their listing through drive T: However, it is wired that Explorer GUI cannot access to the T: drive. So I still cannot see my shares in GUI Under Explorer, I can see the NAS: - under "Media Devices", and brows the DLNA folders - under "Storage", double clicking brings the NAS web admin GUI - under "Computer", named correctly "NAS-01": but if I try to access the shares it gives me a "Network access error" I attach above the image with my error Please help me fix this asap, I am lost and really need the SMB access to manage my backupsSolved43KViews0likes5CommentsReadyNas NV+ Default Username/Password
Hi, I found an older ReadyNas NV+ unit at my new job, Part number is RNV2-S2-0000. I found instructions online how to reset it to factory default, which I have (seemingly) successfully done. I can connect to it with RAIDar, and I was able to do initial setup through it for X-Raid, and the front shows 637GB available of 637GB. However, I am unable to sign in to the unit at http://xxx.xxx.xx.x/admin so I can update it, configure shares, etcetera. I have tried the combibation of admin/admin, admin/password, admin/netgear1, admin/[blank] with no success. Anyone know what the correct username/password for this model is when reset to factory? I would love to get some use out of this thing! Thanks!Solved42KViews0likes2Comments[RESOLVED] Can't SSH login with Root and admin pass

Hi, Firstly, I know this voids warranty, so there's the obligatory warning. I would like to know if there is any way to access the flash memory to install a custom OS. (I am quite interested in installing vanilla debian, as Raidiator breaks some of the regular debian patterns that I am so used to.) Has there ever been a successful attempt? Is there any form of document written on this? I have googled a lot.. but no luck anywhere. I can't imagine there are any proprietary hardware drivers in Raidiator, meaning debian wont be compatible? I would prefer to not hack the device physically, but don't let this stop you from posting =) Regards, Mattias25KViews0likes5CommentsReusing a NAS disk in a PC
I have a 4GB disk that I have removed from a ReadyNAS 104 and I would like to install into a PC. I don't seem to be able to format the disk in any way that will regain all its space, there appear to be hidden partitions that I cannot remove. Can anyone advise me how I can format it back to its original state? I have available Windows 7 and 10, Linux Mint and a Mac.SolvedBlinking power light
Hello everyone. This is my first post on here. I've had this ReadyNAS since November 2014 with no problems, but yesterday after I saw the email for needing to migrate the readycloud service to mynetgear, I logged in to the web admin and updated the firmware on the 102 to the 6.4.1 firmware and when it rebooted, I couldn't access my volumes. I tried to do a USB recovery (I'm running OS X, so I can't run the recovery tool) and that seemed to work after I loaded onto a second USB drive (the first one wouldn't work). However, after I started the 102 back up, the power light just started blinking...and blinking...and blinking. Then, I tried to do the OS reload, but the buttons are completely non-responive. Double clicking the power button won't shutdown the NAS. Pulling the plug from the NAS and holding the reset button doesn't allow me to cycle through the setting either. Once the 102 starts up, all the lights light up, and the power button starts blinking again and releasing the reset and pushing the backup button, like the intructions for doing an OS reload say, don't let me cycle through the different boot menu options. Oddly enough, yesterday and early this morning, I was able to at least SEE the NAS in RAIDar and even the firmware version in the readycloud web dashboard, but this evening I can't even do that. At one point, it was even allowing me to mount the SMB shares on my desktop, but with no visible data, of course. Now, it won't allow me to do that either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Solved24KViews0likes17Commentsbtrfs-cleaner frequently stuck at 100% CPU after 6.4.0 upgrade
Since I upgraded my RN102 to 6.4.0 last night I frequently have trouble reaching the admin interface, and my laptop has reported not being able to reach Time Machine. When I login by ssh and use "top", I can see that btrfs-cleaner is stuck at 100% CPU. This can last up to 10 minutes at a time. I only installed about 12h ago and the btrfs-cleaner process already has over 85 minutes of CPU time, that's more than 20 times more than the second most long-running process, readynasd which is at 4 minutes. After a while, btrfs-cleaner drops back to 0% CPU and I can access the NAS normally. My question: is it normal to have such high load of btrfs-cleaner so frequently? Is there any configuration setting that influences this behaviour. I never noticed this problem under the previous version, 6.2.5. Cheers, Joachim In case it matters, my NAS is equipped with 2x 4TB drives in RAID0 with about 40% in use.Solved23KViews1like31Comments
