- I just tried the password "password" and I worked, I then realized that the admin user was still active and that the password was never changed..
Sorry for that noob question / answer.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDid you try your current admin password? On OS6 when you change the admin password the root password is also changed.
Have you tried an OS Re-install? An OS Re-install will reset the admin and root passwords back to the default password. - titimoiAspirantHello mgdm,
Since I never changed the password, the only one I tried was the admin one.
To reinstall the OS I guess I have to backup everything and manually install the last version of the OS ?So for what you want to do you, you should:
1. Backup all data (you should do this regularly anyway)
2. Verify Backup is good
3. Do a System > Config Backup (if you wish to backup the config)
4. Factory default: http://www.readynas.com/forum/faq.php#How_do_I_reset_the_ReadyNAS_to_factory_default%3F
5. Restore config backup (if you wish to restore the config)
6. Restore data from backup
Is this still the way to go ? - titimoiAspirantI just tried the password "password" and I worked, I then realized that the admin user was still active and that the password was never changed..
Sorry for that noob question / answer. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe procedure is still pretty much the same, though the location in the new UI of the config backup option is slightly different. Though as you have remembered the password now doing a factory default wouldn't be necessary.
Above I suggested an OS Re-install which leaves data intact, but resets the admin and root passwords and some network settings. - titimoiAspirantThank's mdgm, I read it afterwords, that OS reinstall isn't a big deal, that's good to hear.
THank's a lot for your quick answer.
