15 TopicsConfiguring R6200v2 as Access Point and allow LAN connection to Internet
I have a Netgear R6200v2 connected to my DGND3700v2 DSL modem/router. I have a Cisco 881 router connecting to the R6200v2 providing VPN access to work. - DGND3700v2 LAN port cabled to R6200v2 Internet port - R6200v2 LAN port cabled to Cisco 881 FE WAN port With the factory default settings the Cisco router connects to work. But as soon as I configure the R6200 as an Access Point the LAN ports can't access the internet, and my VPN fails. How can I configure the R6200 to both be an AP, and still be able to use the LAN ports for the Cisco router?Solvedwifi to LAN bridge
I have recently moved from having a separate office to having one in my rented house. The internet is supplied by Sky through one of their modem/routers and it works...ish. My router is downstairs in the lounge and my office is now shoe-horned into a small upstairs bedroom and I have several devices in the office that are connected to each other via an Ethernet switch (which was fine in the old office where I had direct access to the router's LAN port). I now need to get the switch on the LAN reliably connected to the router. So far I have a mains-routed extender and this works okay but there is a fault with them in that they often lose the LAN connection. It is a known fault that I learned of AFTER buying them. I cannot run CAT5 from the office to the router and I cannot reposition the router. Somehow I need to bridge my office LAN, via WIFI to the Sky router. Buying a new router and associated bits is not out of the question but I have yet to ask Sky for the settings (their router came ready configured). Any suggestions? Is about a Nighthawk(R) X4S R7800 firmware version V1.0.2.40 Although a gigabith ethernet connection from the modem is connected to the wan port and a gigabit switchport is connected to ethernet LAN port 1, both show a maximum of 100Mb. Also the connected Gigabit switch port shows a maximum of 100Mb. (connecting other gigabit devices on the switcvh port show a 1Gbps speed) According to the specs , the ethernet ports of the R7800 are 1Gbps. What can be the cause that the bandwidth is max 100Mbps ? router status / internetport statistics:Solved9.8KViews0likes2CommentsHow stacking works is 2 stacked switches?
Hi Experts, I'm new to stacking and I would like to know how it will work with 2 switches. I know that when these 2 switches were stacked, they basically become a single switch. Now my question is, how High Availability is achieved by this? For example, Switch 1 has 40 devices connected to the ethernet ports. Then 35 devices connected to the ethernet ports of Switch 2. When one of them goes down, how the remaining Switch can cater all the devices connected to the Switch that goes down? Can someone shed me some light of concept and what will happen in this scenario? Qualche notizia in merito? Hello I'm new to the forum and hopefully won't make mistakes in creating the discussion. Due to the fact that a SYNOLOGY NAS that I've just bought has some issue at keeping ibernation, I'm now in need of setting up some sort of sub-network in my own LAN to keep devices such as phones and domotic tools in control, so to prevent their broadcast packages to reach my NAS and eventually stopping it from waking up from ibernation. As far as I can see, this can be done via VLAN - But I can't figure out how to make it work on my router (R8500 Nighthawk) Before going on with the explanation, every device on my network is connected directly to the Router, let the connection be wired or wireless, without any sort of switch in the middle so won't have to worry about Layer 3 setups. I would need to put Ports 1, 4, 6 + WiFi 2.4, 5.1 and 5.1(2) into a VLAN with free internet access, while other ports should be on an internal network with internet access but no way to see other devices or to get packets from them. Is this possible? If yes, is there a way to put my PC on port 1 in condition of seeing both VLANs (that ain't a 'must' - but would be easier for me)? Hello guys, So basically the first few days the Orbi system worked just fine. But now I'm losing the connection every 1/2 hrs. I'm connected via Lan-Cable to my PS4. I don't know if it has something to do with my issue but when I was only using the laptop and my iPhone everything worked fine. I did not change any settings etc. Once I lose connection the router is pulsing white and sometimes it's just solid white. Then it turns blue and everything works again. Any ideas how I could solve this? I don't want my router to lose connection. Especially when I'm playing online games.Satellte LAN ports not working?
I've got my router in the basement and the satellite above it on the main level to cover the 3rd floor. Satellite is connected with devices attached, but when I plug anything into the LAN ports, they don't get an IP. I requested a replacement kit from Amazon and got the new one set up, tested the LAN ports with the satellite 2 feet from the router once I got the router/satellite configured and the firmware updated on both to 1.4.0.18. Worked fine. Moved the satellte up to the middle floor, got it connected, devices attached through wifi...LAN ports not working again. My Arlo base station showed up on the wired list, but the Xbox One S and the blu-ray player won't connect via LAN. Did a bit of looking around and doesn't seem like anyone else has had the issue? I figure it's either software at this point since it's 2 different kits or I've got something configured wrong.LAN support on new MR1100 router
Hi there, The new MR1100 device looks great. Just wondering if: a) Does it support LAN networking between connected devices? b) Does it allow devices to connect and network even if there is no internet connection or mobile signal available? Any insights would be super hepful, thanks! MikeSolvedEX7000 as Access Point - LAN port still usable ?
Hello Guys, By reading the User Manual before buying, I found something which annoying me... On page 19 from the User Manual, I found : In access point mode, you can connect your computer or WiFi device to the extender only using a WiFi connection. So... IF in Access Point mode, the 4 others LAN ports are not usable like a switch ? Isn't it ? Thanks for your time.Solved5.3KViews0likes4Comments
