NV+ v2
3 TopicsNV+ v2 backup to USB drive (Seagate 5TB)
I am feeling a bit lost with getting USB drive ready for backups. In the past I just backed up to a RN Duo v1 (my old unit), but it does not have sufficient space anymore. I have a RN NV+ v2, and it seems there is no way to format the USB drive from the Dashboard? OK, I can hook it up to a Mac or Windows PC to format it, that's easy enough. So, I would like guidance on: I have a 5TB Seagate Epansion USB3 drive. What's the best format to use for a backup (NTFS/Ext3/4)? Keeping ownership/permissions I have home video files larger than 4GB (rules out FAT) Directly attach to the RN (preferred by me) or to a Mac/PC - I don't mind just leaving it running to eventually complete Any other pointers ThanksSolved5.3KViews0likes14CommentsReadyNas NV+ v2 stuck on boot menu (RND4000-200AJS)
I've been using my NAS for 3 years now and it's been great. Rarely an issue and only had to reboot a few times (when drive got full) Today, however, it has decided to die. When I went to use it, the screen on the front of the NAS was blank and I could not power down, so I pulled the plug and pushed it back in. On start-up, the screen went straight to the 'Boot Menu' and stayed that way. I have tried to hold down the reset button and scroll through the options, but it will not move from 'Normal' and I cannot even make it boot up at all. It appears to be stuck on Boot menu. I have tried removing drives (I have 4x WD. 2x 3TB, 1x 1.5TB and 1 2TB) but to no avail. Having searched high and low for answers, I am desperate now. Can I either, reset the firmware to allow me to boot again, or if the box is truly bricked, how do I recover my data? Thanks, MickSolved5KViews0likes8CommentsRAIDiator 6.4.0 on older hardware? (Active Directory feature)
Good day, I have a ReadyNAS NV+ v2, currently running RAIDiator 5.3.11 with four WD Enterprise 2TB drives. It works quite well, but I've noticed the Active Directory support in this version of RAIDiator seems to be lacking (despite the presence of options to enable it -- what's with that?) Questions: Is this a device which can run under the current RAIDiator version (6.4.0) which, as I understand, fully supports Active Directory, or am I looking at replacing the chassis and moving the disks? If it is a case of replacing the chassis: Will the replacement chassis recognize the disks if I just plug 'em all in, or am I looking at a complete reformat/reinstall? Thanks much.
