14 TopicsSupport LACP L2+L3 hashing on XS series switches
The XS series switches only support L2 hashing with LACP (802.3ad), apparently only the managed switches support anything beyond L2. The ReadyNAS units support L2, L2+L3, and L2+L3+L4 out of the box. Could the upper tier web managed switches please have at least L2+L3 support added? I'm not talking about going crazy and adding more than that. Should be a relatively minor change, the UI changes would likely be more involved than the protocol changes. It should be a big benefit to the ReadyNAS users.11KViews1like1CommentUnidentified Network through wired connection
Hi, I've been having trouble getting a wired connection with my Netgear Extender after we replace our Xfinity router due to the previous one being fried during a storm. It's been giving me Unidentified Network/ Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration. My current setup is a Cisco Xfinity Modem/Router Hybrid Model DPC3941T in the main office on the main floor and the EX7300 Netgear Extender in the basement set up as an extender. WiFi is strong and is working normally, only the wired connection is giving me a hard time. I have some knowledge/experience with troubleshooting and have already tried most of the basic troubleshooting steps to see what was wrong. - Factory reset the extender / modem / router - Replaced ethernet cable - Used a switch between the extender and computer - Did multiple ipconfig /release /renew with no results - Did the netsh commands to reset TCP/IP reset - Uninstalled the network driver / reinstalled with the current driver / tried using older driver - Did sfc /scannow - Gave the extender a static IP - Gave the computer a static IP / 10.0.0.1 / 192.168.1.1 / 192.168.0.1 as gateways I am getting a connection from the ethernet port on the EX7300 so it's not hardware related and more on the computer side. I've probably visited hundreds of sites and forums and tried the solutions there but my situation stayed the same. Here's my ipconfig /all Windows PowerShell Copyright (C) 2016 Microsoft Corporation. I got my first powerline because I hated the wireless life. With the new powerline, I installed and prepared it using the instructions from the manual. After hold the security button for two seconds on each adapter, the power light is flashing like it should be and once every light turns green, the computer detects it as "Unidentified Connection". Also, looking at the Network Connections section I see a new device called "Ethernet" with "Realtek PCIe GBE family controler. While connected to the adapter, I am able to access SOME websites like google, youtube etc. I'm not even connected to my wireless! But if I were to goto a website like speedtest.net (I wanted to compare speeds between wireless vs wired vs powerline wired) it takes forever to "connect" and doesn't load/ connect to the page at all.6.5KViews0likes10Comments1GbE speeds over 10GbE connections? MacOS
I was wondering if anyone is having this same expereince. I have a new 626x, all drives filled, x-raid, connected to a Netgear XS708E 10GbE router, and I'm getting very slow speeds over 10GbE. Not even 90MBs. I was getting better speeds though my Pioneer Pro. My mac is connected to the router though a Promise Technolgy Sanlink2 by thunderbolt. I know I have to tinker with the settigs on each device to get the best performance, but it shouldn't be this slow, should it? Any advice would be appreciated.Solved6.4KViews0likes13CommentsTwo R7000 Trying for BIG FAST home network
I tried to squeeze the idea into the subject. "Regular" home and internet needs: Home Theatre (Xbox, PS, BluRay, TV, etc) Tablets Laptops Smart Phones I have a cable modem and pay for 100/Mbps DL, 10Mbps UL The two units (R7000’s) can be connected directly but only through a wireline adapter (TP-LINK TL-PA6010KIT AV600). What has happened in the past is a connection that is either b/w 95 -110Mbps or 40-50 Mbps depending on where you are in the house. Then sometimes it'll creep down to 20Mbps I have the 2.4 set up on Auto (But after doing some reading here, have been playing around with each channel, 5 seemed pretty good - but Auto as a basic rule) I have the 5 ghz set up at 153, (same thing, playing with channels) I was told 2.4 low channels and 5 ghz high channels are usually good. 20/40 was shut off also per reading notes here Qos was off and remains off Windows User Latest Public Release Firmware Home Network I hope I covered all the important details. Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards.Solved5.4KViews0likes6CommentsReadyNAS disrupts TV?
The setup My NETGEAR ReadyNAS Ultra 2 (I know, she's old but still lovely!) is connected by a single LAN cable to my local network. That local network also connects three laptops, two cellphones (all four wireless) and two TVs (by a LAN cable). The TVs are provided with digital television by the ISP (if it matters, the Dutch company "KPN"). The phone is also connected to that router by a regular "phone jack" (RJ11). The ReadyNAS is not often accessed for its NAS part: that is mainly used as photo archive. It does have the HTTP, FTP and SSH servers enabled, but the website isn't "high traffic". The NAS runs on RAIDiator V4.2.27. The problem Whenever the ReadyNAS is on and connected to the local network (but not "in use": no one is using the three servers or the NAS part), the TV signal is "disrupted": the screen freezes for periods ranging from 10 seconds to several minutes, and at times it tells me that it lost the signal. The disrupts do not occur when the NAS is not connected to the network. However, that renders the NAS useless of course. On suggestion of the help desk of my ISP I connected the NAS to another power outlet. This didn't change anything. I also switched the LAN port that is in use on the NAS. That also didn't help. Maybe some explicit questions might help? Could it be that the disrupts are caused by the NAS, or is it just a strange coincidence? If the NAS could be the cause, could anyone please help me solve this? Would this be a software or hardware problem? Would otherwise a new/other device functioning as NAS and webserver solve this problem? Thanks for considering!Solved4.7KViews0likes10CommentsMultiple IP Addresses
Hello community, I've been using a ReadyNAS Pro 6 for a very very long time and over the years not really bothered much with it's configuration as it was mainly used as a storage dump however unless I am mistaken it still lacks the basic ability to add multiple IP Addresses to the same interface whether that be eth0 / etho1 or even a bonded interface. Why? Only having the ability to assign a single local IP to a storage device is something you did a decade ago, keeping with current times, we should have the ability to assign any number of IPs to any number of interfaces. Am I just being synical or is there a reason for not having this ability in the web interface? (This topic may have been touched upon in the past)4.4KViews0likes6CommentsAdding in a 10Gbe card to 516 ...
So I bought a few ReadyNAS 516 based on the fact that it was promoted and promised that there would be a supported upgrade path to 10Gbe. I'd not been watching the lack of progress on this, but now I have a client looking for the upgrade I told them would be availble. What on earth happened? The readynas 516 was relaeased years ago now and there is still no 10Gbe upgrade path. What on earth happened? Why isn't this released? When eill it be? If it's been scrapped as an option and loyal customers are once again bent-over where on earth is the statement from Netgear? Sorry for being so frustrated, but it's hard not to be when it seems as though we've been "creatively" sold a product and I look like an ass for telling my client what netgear told us. Hi all, I've a new Orbi RBK40 which is 3 months old but somehow not able to get phone support so I'm asking here. I've set up an Ethernet bridge in my Macbook (under settings, network, make a new bridge) and have connected my Internet router by Ethernet cable to the Macbook successfully. I now want to add the Orbi RBK40 to the Macbook via another Ethernet cable and get it connected to the bridge. Unfortunately the light shows purple and not white meaning it's not working as expected. Wifi from the Orbi doesn't work. Can the Orbi join a bridged network? If so how? I don't want to connect the router to the Orbi and Orbi to the Macbook. This was my old setup and setting it this way works fine. I'm trying to force the Orbi and router to be on the same subnet in the bridge I setup in the Macbook. Any suggestions? Thanks Cheers, KinSolvedupgrade from 6.8.1 to 6.9 disabled eth0,1,2,3
I upgraded my readynas 4220 from 6.8.1 to 6.9.0 and the three onboard ethernet ports are showing DHCP enabled in the gui but do not link to the switch. It seems as if they are administrativly disabled. I have tried factory reset and os reinstall as well as restoring the network configuration from a 4220 with the same configuration (as a matter of fact they are of exactly the same manufacturing run so the motherboards are identical) with no sucess. how can I get the system to rediscover (actually renable) the onboard ethernet ports?Solved1.5KViews0likes3Comments
