I've installed the Orbi AC3000 Tri-Band WiFi System with an AT&T Uverse system. I replaced the AT&T Wireless Access Point with the Orbi main Router and configured it for AP mode. After successfully syncing the 2 wireless AT&T receivers, they appeared to work. However, the problem that I'm looking for help with is that the wireless receivers will work fine for only about 5-10 minutes before freezing for a few seconds, then a notification pops up saying U-Verse signal is lost. This will last for several seconds before the screeen reverts to the OK screen for 2 seconds, then returns to the current channel and plays normally for another 5-10 minutes. Then the cycle repeats. I can bypass weird reset cycle by switching channels and quickly switching back when the screen does its inital freeze. Please help me with what settings do I need to change in either the U-Verse gateway or the Orbi AP to ensure my wireless receivers have continuous operation without these interrupts. Thanks in advance!SolvedOrbi dropping internet connection
I purchased a netgear orbi router last month and have had problems with it dropping internet connection almost daily. The orbi representative suggested I get a new system because they had tried all of their help solutions. I went and exchanged my router for a new one and am still having daily disconnects. Really annoying to pay this kind of money for a router and have to constantly power cycle it to keep it running. Seems to be an error with the modem not assigning a MAC address. If I unplug the orbi and plug my old router in I have no problems.SolvedHow far away can you place the Orbi Satellite?
I have a detached garage with a guest apartment above. It sits about 80 feet from my existing Comcast modem and Apple router in my 3500 SF house. I have tried two Netgear extenders with poor results. I want to be able to use a laptop, mobile devices, and Amazon Firestick in detached apartment. Will Orbi work for this application? If so, how far away can I place the satellite from the base? Will I need a second satellite for the house?SolvedOrbi and Ring products issues
I recently switched from one router + repeater to the Orbi system. No installation problem. When I first connected my Ring Doorbell and 2 Ring Spotlight cameras, no connection issues. One camera connected to the Router, while the Doorbell and the other camera connected to one satellite each. Motion was detected and reported. Live View worked. All was well. Then I started to notice problems with Live View. If there was no motion detected for a while, then Live View would show a black screen (or could not connect). Motion would restore the Live View for 15-30 minutes. I checked the connected devices, and the Dorrbell and camera connected to the satellites would not show in the list. After motion they would show. The camera connected to the router would always be in the list and show Live View with no issue. Testing further, I turned off the 2 satellites and brought one camera back on the house to be close enough to get a signal. Now all are connected to the Router and I have no Live View issue anymore. Therefore it seems there is a problem when Ring products connect to a satellite. I tried all suggestions mentioned on this forum, no luck. Anybody noticed the same issue? Any solution?ATT Uverse
I am an ATT Uverse user and interested in the Orbi product. Has anyone set up the Orbi on the ATT Uverse system? Uverse system has the modem/router in one device. I'm not a network guy so do not understand technical ling (smile). Can someone explain if you can make the Orbi system work with ATT Uverse? If so, how? Do I have to set it up just as an access point or are there other ways to configure it? Would I keep my TVs (DVR and tv access points) plugged into the ATT modem/router or plug those into the Orbi as well? I have called ATT many times and they are not familiar with Orbi so could not offer any advice.Does Orbi RBK50 support USB3 Connected hard drives?
Hi, Does Orbi RBK50 support USB3 Connected hard disks? My router just can't recognise USB3 hard disks. However it is able to recognise my 8gb uab2 pen drive. Is this a limitation in current firmware. It is very disappointing. Except this I like everything else in this router.SolvedOrbi WiFi System
I bought a new Orbi system today. Immediately ran into problems as it would NOT connect to the internet. My older X6 R8000 is right next to it and connects immediately. If I plug the Orbi in through the LAN port on the X6, then it works fine. I used this method to update the time, firmware on both the router and the satellite, and finalize the settings. I tried to go back to just the Orbi and it will not connect. I've tried multiple ethernet cords, I've restarted every piece of equipment in the chain, and I've reset the Orbi from scratch. Nothing fixes it. I have a Verizon FIOS ONT that was just recently installed and is apparently working flawlessly. The R8000 (which Netgear has apparently abandoned early) still works fine and connects to the internet without hesitation. There is a Netgear article that says you have to set it up in AP mode connected to the fios router, but I'm not using a fios router at all, so I can't use AP mode without losing router functionality. The FIOS ONT is just a fiber converter, not a router. Anyone have any ideas?SolvedOrbi RBR50 and Slow WiFi Problems with iOS Devices
I’ve been experience a very strange problem with slow WiFi speeds on my iOS devices for a few months now and was wondering if anyone might be able to point me to something to try to fix it. It seems that the problem started when I updated our iPhones and iPads to iOS 11 and has been ongoing ever since. I have spoken with Apple about the issue, but nothing we’ve tried has helped. Things like turning Airplane mode on and off, resetting network settings, re-setting up the iPad/iPhone as a new device, etc. Here’s what happens. When home, the iOS devices act normally and have a good connection to the Orbi system and get full Internet speed (150 Mbps for my service) all over the house. If we then take the iOS devices out of the house and connect to another WiFi network, such as at work, all is still well. The problem starts when we return home. They connect to the WiFi network just fine, but if I perform a speed test, they will show anywhere from about 1 Mbps to about 25 Mbps connections and will not get any better throughput. Also, while this is happening, if you try to use an application that accesses the Internet, it will experience long delays in accessing the information every few minutes. Once the delay is over, everything works as expected, but at the low, and sometimes very low, connection speeds. No amount of fiddling with the iOS devices will correct the situation; however, through the process of elimination I found that restarting the Orbi router gets everything back to working as expected. I can’t for the life of me figure out what could potentially be causing this odd behavior, but would appreciate any insight that someone may have and would be willing to share. This is becoming more and more annoying as time goes on.
