Hello I've been using rn102 as backup device , doing "robocopy" every day from win2k12r2 server. In the recent past too many "access denied" errors showed up and I decided to make new share and malke full backup again. But it seems that there is no free space as one would expect (!?) This report says that cca 770G are used , but usage bar on the left describes way different situation. At the begininng no snapshot usage was shown, but when I deleted some snapshots this little yellow part showed up (little strange). Is there any way to clean up "garbage" and get the right picture ? If I do not solve this soon I was thinking about to make factory restore and I'm not happy with that at all Thank you very much in advance for your help Best regards Tonci668Views0likes1CommentJBOD (Single)-function (2 HDDs as 2 independent drives) on USB
Hello, I'm trying to set up a JBOD box (IcyBox IB-3662U3) with 2 HDD as 2 independent drives on a one of the USB port. The RN31600 only recognize 1 HDD. Windows or MacOS recognize and mount both Ext4 HDD. Is there anyway I can make ReadyNAS 6.9.3 system recognize both HDD? I have a readynas 214. I am using this as a backup solution and while backing up data it became full. I cleaned off space and tried again but the backups kept failing. I logged into the nas portal and noticed that all the volumes show red and still say they are full even though they are not. When I try to click on the volumes it just says they don't exist. I did find another article where a person was having the same issue and they said netgear helped them delete a log file and that fixed the issue but they didn't say what log file or where it was located. Any help with this would be appreciated. I have also included a screenshot of the volumes.938Views0likes2CommentsReadyNAS Amazon Cloud Drive backup hanging
I'm trying to get the files in my Amazon Cloud Drive backed up to my ReadyNAS - it all starts great, but stalls after a short while and hangs permanantly on Starting Live Syncing. The only way I've found to get it back underway is to leave ACD, delete the AmazonCloudDrive folder on my NAS and then start again - but obviously I don't get anything other than the same files. What can I do to get the backup to complete? 08/08/2018, 23:30:22 /data/AmazonCloudDrive/.AppleDB was added to local. 08/08/2018, 23:30:24 Scaning cloud drive changes is complete. 08/08/2018, 23:30:24 Starting to index local drive. Since the replication service is going away we all need to figure out how to backup. My problem is backing up a Duo V2 on Radiator 5 to an OS6 NAS. Today with ReadyNas Replicate it works great. There's a nice guide on how to do this with Rsync (found below) however, on the Duo V2, the home directories are hidden and therefore not exposed as shares to be backed up. The guide below does not address this. Anyone else able to backup the home directories from a Radiator 5 to OS6? https://kb.netgear.com/29733/How-do-I-back-up-data-from-a-RAIDiator-5-system-to-a-ReadyNAS-OS-6-system1.1KViews0likes2CommentsReadynas 314 Backup to Google drive is incomplete.
Hi all. I recently decided to use google drive as a place to backup our readynas. It’s all gone well. Until I noticed I can not back up the home folders. Apart from the admin account. None of the others for some reason are not allowed. Is there something I can do so I am allowed to backup the home folders too. I’m using google drive simply because we don’t pay for it. I work for a charity so google have given us a lot of the google apps for free where normal business would have to pay. I know google drive for the readynas is classed as beta. But was hoping to use it as a good cloud based backup. Could this be something netgear are looking at. At the top of my head I believe our readynas is the RN314 1TB X 4 bay. Hope someone could help. Thanks. Alan.1.3KViews0likes4Comments++ ReadyNAS REMOTE - ReadyCLOUD ++
Hello, I want to setup an older ReadyNAS Pro 6 (ReadyNAS 516) for use with ReadyNAS Remote or ReadyCLOUD. Model name: RNDP6000 Model no: RND-6B RAIDiator 4.2.31 on it. ReadyNAS Remote ist installed on the NAS. The Client software is no longer supported and not running under Windows 10. Also the invitation links sent by e-mail are not working. So I believe I have to use ReadyCLOUD. Unfortunately there is no CLOUD option on the NAS GUI and register the NAS on http://readycloud.netgear.com is not possible, because the NAS cannot be found (5sec button or s/n method tried). Is it possible to get a remote connection/backup running and not to use smb or rsync? Hello, How do I delete the existing Amazon Drive authentication that is stored on my ReadyNas, so it will prompt me to re-enter the info? I've been using the Amazon Drive backup successfully for months, but recently it's been turning itself off. I can turn it back on, everything works well for a day, then it turns itself off again. When I looked at the error messages they mentioned an invalid user account credential. I figured I would reauthorize the ReadyNas and see if that helped. I first turned off the Amazon Drive button on the ReadyNas.I logged into Amazon Drive and deleted the ReadyNas from Account/Manage 3rd Party Apps section. I then went back to the ReadyNas and turned the Amazon Drive functionality back on, but it wouldn't turn on. I rebooted the ReadyNas, and tried again. It flickered for a brief moment, looking like it was turning on but no, stays off. I rebooted a few more times. After a little bit I get an alert banner - "Unauthorized. It could be invalid user account credential or the app is not allowed to access cloud drive. Stopped syncing with Amazon Cloud Drive". I've confirmed that IPV6 is disabled. I have 8.8.8.8 as my DNS. I've tried multiple browsers. How do I get the ReadyNas to re-prompt me for new Amazon credentials? Thanks for your help.Solved3.5KViews0likes12CommentsRSYNC over SSH stopped working
Hi, I had an unexpected problem with my backups from Ubuntu to my ReadyNAS314 (firmware 6.9.3), which seemed to start since I upgraded Ubuntu from 17.10 to 18.04. I use duplicity via rsync over ssh, and I was getting : ssh: Could not resolve hostname nas314-xx-xx-xx: Name or service not known I couldn't ssh into the NAS either, (as me) until I tried adding a .lan domain suffix in the script. So I modified the backup script, and then I got the errors: Host key verification failed. rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [Receiver] rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at io.c(235) [Receiver=3.1.2] Looking on the SSH configuration on the NAS admin console for the backup user, I noticed the imported key for me had RSYNC Only unchecked, but for root on Ubuntu, it was checked. So I tried unchecking the RSYNC Only checkbox for root on Ubuntu, and now the backup works again. Does anyone have any ideas why this is. Apparently openssh on Ubuntu went from 7.2 to 7.6? Many thanks.4.5KViews0likes9Comments
