++ ReadyNAS REMOTE - ReadyCLOUD ++
Hello,
I want to setup an older ReadyNAS Pro 6 (ReadyNAS 516) for use with ReadyNAS Remote or ReadyCLOUD.
Model name: RNDP6000
Model no: RND-6B
RAIDiator 4.2.31 on it.
ReadyNAS Remote ist installed on the NAS. The Client software is no longer supported and not running under Windows 10. Also the invitation links sent by e-mail are not working.
So I believe I have to use ReadyCLOUD. Unfortunately there is no CLOUD option on the NAS GUI and register the NAS on http://readycloud.netgear.com is not possible, because the NAS cannot be found (5sec button or s/n method tried).
Is it possible to get a remote connection/backup running and not to use smb or rsync?
Kind reagrds
Jay
Hi JD168
Welcome to the Community!
ReadyCloud service is not available for RAIDiator 4.x, it is only available on OS 6 and that is why you are not able to register and connect your Pro 6.
You can opt to upgrade your Pro 6 to OS 6 Firmware. Please see this thread.
Please note that this procedure is not supported by NETGEAR so you will have to do it on your own risk but members here can advise you what you can do and we have members who have upgraded their x86 legacy NAS. A factory reset will be done once you have upgraded to OS 6 so your data will be lost, make sure you have full backup before doing this.
You can also setup VPN Connection using OpenVPN or ZeroTier so you can have connection to your remote location. See this thread.
Hope this helps!
Regards
