My device has worked for me in the past, but sometimes it's drops and won't reconnect. It happend once before and I was able to get it back up an running. Today I tried to go to routerlogin.net and .com, along with 192.168.168.1 but all of them gave me the same message You are not connected to your Router’s WiFi network. To access routerlogin.net, your device must be connected to your Router’s WiFi network. Check your current connection and try again. I have tried this wired and on wifi, I have tried Chrome, Firefox, & IE. I have cleared my cache. Each time it won't work. The device is less than 5 feet from the router. Currently it is connected by a wire from my home router and the light for Internet is off. Anyone have any other ideas I can try?520Views0likes1CommentPR2000 support captive portal wireless login page?
Hi everyone. I've read the manual and attempted to ask Support, but have not found the answer to this. https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/PR2000.aspx Does the PR2000 support captive portal wireless login pages? These are web pages for public wifi networks where you need to take some action on the page, like checking a box, in order to connect to the network. The PR2000 interface allows you to connect to wifi networks with a UN/PW, but it doesn't appear to support a browser interface in order to get past the login page of the wifi network you want to connect to? Does anyone know if the PR2000 supports this? If so, how? If it doesn't it really limits the usefullness of the device. Thanks in advance!1.1KViews0likes1CommentFeature request: Change "wan side" mac address on PR2000 when in wireless hotspot mode
I purchased the PR2000 specifically for its WIRELESS Hotspot mode (the ability to connect to another wireless network, and then create a new wireless network, with a new SSID, security and network IP address range). I’ve had it for a month and it does quite a nice job at this. HOWEVER, I recently spent 8 days in a location where the wireless provider (cruise ship) was able to render the PR2000 USELESS! It seems that they are blocking mac address prefix ranges of popular network/router gear providers and therefore I was unable to use the PR2000. Also see this Fortune article on the issue: http://fortune.com/2015/11/04/fcc-hotels-wifi-blocking/ When the PR2000 is in the “wired router” mode it DOES have the ability to change the mac address of the PR2000 “wan side”, and thereby overcome this problem. HOWEVER, when in the “wireless hotspot mode” there does not seem to be an interface to change the mac address of the “wan side” of the wireless interface, so therefore, I was unable to overcome this problem. Unfortunately, I was unable to connect my Kindle and other devices that can’t deal with a “captive portal” situation. THERFORE, I am making a feature request that this ability (to change the mac address of the “wan side” of the device when in ‘wireless hotspode mode’) be added to the next ROM update for the PR2000 Or if I’ve somehow missed this ability and it already exists, please advise.5.4KViews1like4CommentsReboot on device disconnect
Hi ti everyone, I have a problem with this my new netgrar pr2000, I use this to extend my home WiFi network with another name, with two lan devices attached and (minimum) my PC and smartphone via wireless. Everything is fine until I shutdown one of my WiFi device, example if i put in standby my notebook (connected via WiFi to the pr2000) after some seconds the trek restarts its self...I've tried "playing" with the advanced settings but nothing! I tried already to power the trek with USB and/or the AC but nothing. Firmware updated to the lasted one... Someone can help me please? Thank you11KViews0likes2Commentsgoogle blocked
On holidays I use my PR2000 to share my internet access with a PC, an adroid tablet, an android smartphone and a windwos phone. Without the PR2000 I have access to all internet pages. With PR2000 the access to several internet pages like google, microsoft or playstore fail, whereas amazon or wetter.de still work. Only the android tablet still has access to all web sites. I also tried to use the IP address to avoid DNS problems without success. To send a ping to the IP address works fine. Firmeware 1.0.0.10 and the newest 1.0.0.14 show the same result. Many thanks in advance for any hints on that problem Bernd2.9KViews0likes1CommentHelp! Can't access PR2000 setup page
So I am on my second device (first one replaced by customer service) and now am beyond my initial support period. My PR2000 is working but for some reason I am unable to access it via routerlogin.com or .net I can connect to it, and I can use it to access the internet (I am using it now), but it will not let me get to the setup page. Just get a "Safari cannot fond the server" message. And, yes, I have tried the factory reset several times. I know that the firmware needs to be updated but I can't get there. Any other options? Thanks12KViews0likes2CommentsNo Support
Why is it that I am unable to obtain support for my PR2000 that I purchased at an authorized retailer only 4 months ago? NetGear claims that the device has a 1 year "warranty", but refuses to support it during the warranty period without me paying for "premium" support? I'll never purchase another NetGear or Cisco piece of garbage again. My PR2000 will not stay connected as a wireless bridge. CONSTANTLY reboots. I've tried everything that I can find in the forums, to no avail. So when I finally reach out to the so-called "support" group at NetGear... nothing but closed tickets telling me to spend $40 on premium support! This piece of garbage wasn't worth the $50 I've already wasted on it... why would I throw more good money down the drain? I didn't. I bought a HooToo. Now I just want to take my hammer and smash this overpriced paperweight into a hundred pieces and mail it back to them. Anyone have an address? I can't even get THAT out of the "support" people.13KViews0likes9CommentsWhat is your longest up time?
