7 TopicsPLP1200 and tye Netgear Genie software
Dear Netgear, An issue was raised on your forum almost two years ago about the PLP1200 not being supported by the Netgear Genie software (see https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-App/PLP1200-not-recognized-by-Genie-2-4-38-and-Powerline-Utility-D-3/td-p/1255603). I personally have a powerline network with a pair of PLP1200's and a pair of the PLW1000 (and a pair of XAV5501 as back-up). If I want to test the connection speed in my powerline network, I still cannot rely on the Netgear Genie software to show me the right connection speeds or status of my PLP1200's. Please do fix, it's about time... Kind regards, Martin1.7KViews0likes0CommentsMAC filter on pLW 1000 LAN port
I have just bought the PLW1000 kit with the wireless powerline and I cannot find in the configuration the possibility to put MAC filters on the LAN port or to disable it. I think it's a big lack of security because it leaves the possiblity to unknown (if the powerline is not under eyes control, as example in the car box) to connect to the LAN just by plugging a cable in the port even if we have WPA/MAC security on the wireless side. I suggest to put a MAC filter access control on the LAN port of the powerline on the next revision of the firmware, similar to the already existing Acces Control setting based on MACs for the wireless access menù. So only known devices with the MAC address configured in the powerline can be plugged in.2.2KViews0likes0CommentsHeader variable problem using Siteminder
Hello guys. We have an issue where we have ColdFusion server installed on Windows with IIS 5 and another install on UNIX with Iplanet WS 6.0. Both environments are running Siteminder WebAgents. When a user logs into siteminder on the UNIX box everything works fine but if the user navigates to the windows server in the same browser session the siteminder cgi header variable fails. What happens is that the header variable format changes. Starts as sm_user = * when the request is passed to the windows server the variable format is sm_user : *. The "=" sign changes to ":", So the app fails reading the variable and throws an error. I have no idea how to resolve this. If the user logs into the Windows environment first then traverse to the UNIX environment the variable syntax does not change and everything works appropriately. Any ideas? I posted this in another area of the forum and was told to post it here so that Netgear could actually see the request::: ------------------------------------ The starter pack with the PLW1000 + PL1000 is a great product however when expanding your network there is no option to purchase individual PLW1000 units. I would like to formally request that the PLW1000 adapter be sold individually for the purpose of extending an established Powerline 1000 network. To sell them only as a bundled pack is both a waste of resources and money. This request applies to other versions of your EoP solutions as well. Would you please consider this in the near future?9.2KViews1like1Comment
