Mac osx 10.12.6 Router Netgear N600 WNDR34500 I have a direct line from the router to my Mac, but I use my powerline for my home theater system in the other room via converted router to switch. I also have a single block XAV 101v2 which I picked up at a thrift shop that works, but I havent been using it. I've check pretty much everything I need to check to see if the rest of the system works and it does, but I only get the power and the ethernet lights to work on the blocks. Checked, cables, outlets from different room. The only thing I cant check is where I put in the original line to the wall from the router. Any suggestions? I went to work yesterday and everything worked fine, but when I came home the blocks werent working.910Views0likes1CommentUsing Powerline 1200 with 6-Outlet Tap, Grounded
Hello, will using a GE grounded 6-Outlet Tap for plugging one of my Powerline 1200 adapters into degrade the performance or should I be okay? The only other thing I plan to plug in to the 6-outlet tap is a surge protector. Thanks!Solved2.7KViews0likes5CommentsPowerline AV200 range extender
Hello, probably a simple question; I have the above network set up in my house, however in some rooms I don't get a decent signal. Can I add to my existing network with another plug-in extender (if so which one?) or will i have to update the whole thing. What can the community recommend? Thanks v muchSolved1.8KViews0likes2CommentsCannot reset the wifi settings
I seemed to have lost the wifi extension from my AV200 powerline adapter. I have reset it (and the initial unit) and checked their encryption but using the Powerline Utility I keep getting a message that says 'wifi setting failed' when I try to complete that action. Any clues would be fab - all lights are opn and the utility says that the connections are good ???1.7KViews0likes4CommentsWi-Fi to Metal Building with 180 Feet underground Electrical Feed
I am trying to find a Netgear Product that will extend Wi-Fi to my metal building workshop. My workshop is 180 feet from our house and powered from our main breaker panel. The power feed is 180 feet of buried plastic conduit with electrical cable. I have tried the first generation of Powerline Ethernet Wi-Fi extender which couldn't get Ethernet past the first circuit breaker it encountered. Later I purchased a second generation Powerline Ethernet Wi-Fi extender which did a good job of extending Ethernet throughout our house past multiple circuit breakers, but failed to send the signal through the 180 feet of buried electrical cable to my shop. Will the Netgear RBK50-100NAS Orbi get Wi-Fi to the workshop? Does Netgear make anything that will work in this extreme condition? Maybe I am not using the correct term here, but my intention when I bought this was to have essentially an extension of my router to the other side of my apartment. My issue I have right now using the powerline is since it creates its own wifi signal, everytime I switch where I am located my phone will stay connected to where I was before, so then I have to go to my settings and change my phone so it is connected to my Powerline (or router, depending on the room). For instance, I can be in room A on one side of the apartment and be connected to the router with a solid connection with WIFI_A. However when I leave that room and go to the opposite side of my apartment my phone remains connected to WIFI_A and I have to manually switch it to the Powerline adapter's wifi, WIFI_B. Is there a way to use the PLW1000 so that it is the SAME as my router, meaning I can go from one room to another to where the other device is located and stay connected to the same network and not have to change it? Meaning I can connect to WIFI_A and have that signal be both from the router AND powerline? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated! The Powerline setup works great within the house, but I'm trying to get the receiver to work in a second structure on my property. When I plug it in at the second location about 150 feet away, I only get a red light on the pick a plug display. Is there anyway to boost the signal to get it to work across this long distance?Solved908Views0likes1CommentPowerline adapters outdoor, water proof?
Hi community, I want to place a powerline (with WIFI capability built in) just outside my house. Although there is some kind of roof above it, it will still get wet from the rain. So I would like to know if the powerline adapters from Netgear are water resistant (at least rain resistant) or not. I was mainly looking at the "PLW1000". Thank you for the info.5.1KViews0likes2CommentsPLW1000 turns on lamp
When I plug in and power up the PLW1000 it triggers the touch lamp that's on the same circuit. Here's what I know and/or have tried. putting a magnet clip-on thing onto the lamp's cord no different circuits in the room. Just the one. moved the PLW1000 to a different room (different circuit) and it works fine but range is not as good. Any idea how to resolve this? Thanks1.2KViews0likes3Comments
