Orbi RBK 50 + RBW30
RBK50 (Router + Satellite) with 2 x RBW30 satellites. I have spent more than 4 hours in 3 days on phone with support to try and resolve issues of the following: RBK50 router reboots randomly. Devices nearest to Satellites use Router at further distance. AP isolation issue related to Google Home devices makes them unavailable if you are connected to a different satellite than that device. More frequent reboots than without Satellites. My RBK50 without RBW30 with reboot at least twice a day for no reason but more with Satellites. I am not sure what to make of this. Support goes through the playbook of 'Reboot please'. 'Re-sync please'. 'Update firmware', 'downgrade firmware'. 'Disconnect satellite', 'reconnect'. 'Hold on let me check with my team'. This can't be poor quality control can it? There seem to be numerous reports of similar issues. I have spent close to $600 on my Orbi system and all we have is outsourced consumer support and these user forums which Netgear support seems largely absent from. Is there any solution to the rebooting issue or a way to pinpoint the cause?
Orbi satellites not on manual update page
My RBK40 Orbi Router shows up on the Firmware Update page, but my two RBW30 satellites do not show up on the Manual Updates page - though they're both online and working nominally. What's up with that? Hello, I have a RBW30 sattelite unit (current firwmare 1.12.0.4). I'm trying to get it updated to the latest firmware version (as of now the new firmware to loadRBW30-V2.0.0.34_1.0.21). However each time I'm going through the following process and it will not allow me to login. Login to main router Click tab advanced -> menu administration -> firmware update - tab manual update Check RBW30 -> Click Update Popup window opens - starts loading, wants me to login - type in admin (and my password for the main unit, which also works for logging into my RBS50) it says the password is incorrect. I've tried factory resetting the device, I've tried, username: admin - password: password It will not allow me to login to get the firmware updated. After a few bad tries - it gives me a message: " 401 Unauthorized Access to this resource is denied, your client has not supplied the correct authentication." So, now what? - I've even tried setting the master password for the router again, but that didn't push it to the sattellite either. Any ideas?RBW30 won't connect
Bought a RBW30 - AC2200 satellite add-on but it will not connect to my existing Orbi system (RBK50 - AC3000). The ring flashes white, then turns blue, then turns magenta no matter where I place it and it never shows up in the list of connected devices (even when blue). My suspicion is that the firmware on the satellite is older than the firmware on my Orbi router (I'm on the latest firmware). However, when I try to connect to the satilite's own wi-fi network (after doing a factory reset) to do a manual update, I get "Unable to join network," on both my Mac and on my iPhone. So, I cannot even get on to the satellite to do the firmware upgrade. Any suggestions?
