Hi. I have two RN104 models. One on my LAN in my office and one in a customer's office 22 miles away. The RN104 in my office is being used to store my media collection, a file server for my business and (in testing) a backup service to a small number of customers. The remote is a customer's main storage and file share which I maintain and am currently 'watching' due to problems with disk-based backups. Both devices suddenly appeared as Offline in the desktop client for me sometime yesterday. I then got a phone call from an irate customer complaining he couldn't access his backup to retrieve a file he needed (which I then accessed locally and emailed him). This problem would have also prevented me from monitoring the problematic backup on the remote device if I didn't have VNC access and was able to access the NAS via a PC in their office. Anyway, I left it for sometime hoping the service would return but alas no! Then I thought, just a moment ago, has the ReadyCLOUD function been somehow disabled? Sure enough, both devices have had their ReadyCLOUD function turned off. So my questions are . . . Why have both devices had their ReadyCLOUD function turned off? I didn't do it and I'm the only person with admin access to both devices and they both have different, complex passwords which change regularly. If this has occured due to a problem at NETGEAR, for example, a wide-ranging hack or someone 'accidentally pressing the wrong button' will you please let me know. I need to have confidence in this kit as I am installing and maintaining them for customers. Is it safe to turn the ReadyCLOUD function back on? I've seen recent reports of people complaining that their data has been lost or compromised. I need to use the ReadyCLOUD client on a daily basis to manage my devices. Thanks.Solved6.8KViews1like11CommentsRecently updated firmware on RN104 now users not able to backup pics from phone with Rcloud
I use the ReadyNAS 104 for my family to backup photos. I made sure everyone had a mynetgear.com account upgrade and they were able to access/backup their photos. The firmware up for 6.5.2 was available so I went ahead and updated. I was not connecting from my phone, i logged out and back in, seemed to work fine. My wife asked me to troubleshoot her phone and I could not see the Readynas. i've logged her out and back in. Deleted readycloud and reinstalled on the phone. created new folders in readynas and invited her. No success. Can you please let me know how to add my family members back in.4.3KViews1like7CommentsRN104 Ready Claud app VPN connection disconnected and Ready Claud service unavailable
v: 6.6.0; Eth0, static IP Proxy not set; primary DNS (primary router DNS), and primary ISP DNS as secondary DNS. I have local user; un: Name1.Surname1 ; email(em): user1@domain.tld I have admin user for Ready Claud (RC), em: admin@domain.tld and I invited user name1.surname1 , em:(user1@domain.tld) . Here maybe was a problem or still is? It works fine until I reinstall win 10 home. Now works, but I have in Ready Cloud error: Service unavailable? I change user1 to name1.surname1_L (add _L in the end of the surname); user1@domain.tld I can access normal RC with bout users: admin and user1. With user1 to all my 3 dir: documents, pictures and public (only web). Problems/ questions: RC app: VPN connection doesn’t work any more? VPN disconnected With RC user, I cannot access to public directory with explorer (I change credentials, but didn’t work ???), but I have r/w (full) permissions on web? RC on web works as it should. Surname1 and RC user1 are the same person. So I have to arrange only user1 , who is RC user, but public access doesn’t work? (Q 2 in 3 are linked) In admin window: Ready Cloud error: Service unavailable? (reboot didn’t help). Which log should I watch for this? When connected as RC user as admin or user1, can’t see any more my device? Should I reconnect? Wont destroy this my current users? Any help will be appreciated.
